After about 5 combined years here, my time at WJAC has come to an end. Today is my last day. Every single day has been nothing short of interesting and exciting; never knowing what each day would hold. I started out as an intern in 2018, came back for a summer job in 2019, and was hired as a reporter in 2020. (We came a long way from reporting live from the living room during the pandemic) !! Every day was like directing a short film: being the writer, producer, director, photographer, and editor of each story, making it come to life.

🎙️I have been the person to hold someone’s hand as they step up onto the platform to share their story. I've been there on the best days of people's lives and on the worst day of people's lives. I've sobbed my eyes out with some people I've interviewed… and I've had laugh attacks until my stomach hurts with others. I've interviewed people who I never thought I'd cross paths with in a million years and I've interviewed people I've known forever. But stranger or friend, they’ve confided in me to broadcast their story to our entire area. That means more to me than anything else.

💟 Local streets, highways, and backroads were my workplace. The news car was my office. My car window was my mirror (to hairspray my hair). I've gotten to know people who I once only recognized in passing. I've gotten to explore places I've driven past my entire life. Every day has been like a field trip. I got to explore my hometown in ways I never thought possible. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes ~ either physically letting me in for an interview ~ or just watching our newscasts on your TV.

💕 You know how you spend more time with your coworkers than you do your own family? That's what happened for me. My coworkers have seen me laugh and they’ve seen me cry. They’ve seen me when I was starting a shift at 3AM and when I was leaving from a shift at 3AM. They've seen me in good moods and bad moods. We’ve worked together in extreme heat, cold, storms, floods, and winds. All of us behind the scenes have formed a pretty unique bond over pretty unique situations.

🌼 If you remember one thing from this, PLEASE remember that there are so many wonderful, passionate, driven, smart, kind, amazing people in our community. I have seen it with my own eyes each and every day!!!!!! The people and organizations in this town are working hard every single day to make this a better place to live. Please do not forget that. I have NEVER been more proud to be from where I'm from than when I started working here!!!

💙 I AM STAYING IN JOHNSTOWN. While I am leaving television news, my storytelling journey is not over. I CAN’T WAIT for you to see what I do next !!!! I am SO EXCITED to continue serving my community in other ways. And… I will still be active here on social media. So, if something good is happening in the community… still send it to me & I will still post!!! That's because the people of my hometown will never stop being “the wonders of my world.”

Five women were struck and killed on a highway this week in the eastern part of Pennsylvania 💔

A man was also killed on a highway near York. 💔

What do the two heartbreaking situations have in common? All occurred because they got OUT of their vehicles AFTER being involved in an accident. 🚨

Moral of the story: DON’T GET OUT OF YOUR CAR if you’re involved in a crash. Stay inside - or if you can’t - move to a safe place like higher ground or a building until first responders arrive to help. ❤️
