Another interview style setup! These talking head shots and doing lighting for them is my absolute fav.
Just something I’ve learned recently. Remember why we do what we do.
There’s something I regret… - So, in October we went on a trip to Arizona. We had big plans: see the Grand Canyon, see Sedona, maybe drive up to Monument Valley - the whole scenic adventure with all the photo/video content I could make. Day one I start having severe pain and become super sick. End up in the ER. No answers as to what’s happening to me. (Still no answers 70+ days later with unexplained pain, but that’s a story for another time). For most of the trip I am stuck in the hotel room. Only a couple of our great plans happened. Here’s one thing that I learned from this whole thing that I hope impacts someone reading this: GET THE ROOM WITH THE VIEW. Here’s why. So many times in life we make great plans, we have ideas for the future and what things SHOULD be and how they SHOULD go. And a lot of the time we “book the room that’s convenient/easy/affordable/etc.” even if it doesn’t have a great view (and I’m not just talking trips anymore, we’ve entered life real talk). It’s so easy to have plans to hike to this scenic overlook or drive a couple hours to this landmark FROM the affordable room we booked in a little town next to a McDonald’s and across from Walmart. It’s only on rare occasions that we actually book a room with a view. And this is what I regret…I regret not booking more rooms with a view. Life happens and plans don’t always go the way we thought. When that happens, it’s nice to have a room with a view if you end up stuck there. What are we missing in life by waiting for the early more hike, the scenic drive, the 8 hour day itinerary, etc. If all you had was the room you booked, would you have a memory made of a beautiful view? You know, sometimes it’s ok just be content where you are. Don’t always be planning for an instagramable moment to the point where you miss the current view that God has put before you. “Waiting” in your season may not mean “doctor’s office scrolling type of wait” it might mea
My current setup! It changes, but the main things stay the same.

Comparing the Amaran f22x panel and the Amaran 4ft. tube - just because I was curious lol. Honestly both work great for a Key light. I’ve been using the tubes more lately because they are so portable and easy to setup.
