UK to send SLRs to soldiers fighting in Ukraine.

An MoD spokesperson has announce plans to provide an uplift of 12,000 Self Loading Rifles (SLRs) to Ukrainian soldiers fighting against Russia.

The rifles, which have been in storage since 1989, were once the main weapon of warfare for the British Army for over thirty years. They were praised for their stopping power and utility.

“We are very happy to be having the SLR,” said Capt Ivor Bigonobsi, a Ukrainian Officer “the SLR is a real man’s weapon and will serve Ukraine well”

Some critics are arguing why the MoD, which dropped the 7.62mm weapon in the late 1980s, did not provide more up to date equipment. However, the wider veterans community has praised this move, citing an improvement in lethality to help turn the tide of the war.

British troops have been forbidden from exchanging Christmas Cards this year.

In a new move by the MoD, the giving and receiving of festive greeting cards has been banned in order to protect the environment and to not offend non-Christian soldiers.

“This is a bold step to take, but in this modern age it has to be done” said Brigadier Richard Webb, a senior MoD spokesperson “the population of the UK is changing due to immigration and the MoD needs to stay ahead of the curve.”

It is unknown what sanctions await troops who decide to share Christmas cards with their colleagues, but sources claim that an AGAI or ‘administrative action’ will be the bare minimum with the potential for dishonourable discharge in the worst cases.

A former TV actor has been caught expressing his hatred for UK veterans.

Terry Noble, who played Omlette in Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show in the early 2010s, was seen posting these vile messages onto his social media account.

“Mr Noble has a history of online abuse towards various groups, including other races” said Andrew Wilson, a social media risk analyst, “as such, his main account is often banned from posting, so he regularly posts these messages on a secondary account onto his page”

The account Jay Webbe, a fake account regularly used by Terry to make his hateful posts, was seen making insulting messages about veterans.

It is unknown what compelled Mr Noble, who has lived off benefits for over a decade, to make statements about those who protect his freedom.

When interviewed by VNUK, Mr Noble stated that he targeted these military charities due to being allegedly bullied online by a man claiming to be ex forces.

The MoD has announced plans to scrap the Oath of Allegiance taken by new recruits.

The Oath, first introduced in 1868, was normally taken by new soldiers, airman and sailors during their ’attestation’ on joining the military.

However, military officials and senior civil servants in Whitehall have decided that the Oath is outdated and requires replacement.

“While an oath to protect and serve Her Majesty has had its place in our society, it’s no longer something that young people are interested in doing” said Commadore Michael Malloy, senior staff officer at the MoD. “We need to find new ways to attract the next generation”.

The Oath is due to be replaced by a declaration to ‘protect all genders and races’ and ‘to always help a friend in need’. Sources say Muslim recruits will be allowed to swear allegiance to their god, Allah, instead of the British Government.

This decision has been met with some controversy. “Swearing an oath to the queen was an important part of joining the army,” said Richard Pickering, 62, formerly of the Royal Lancashire Fusiliers, “young people have no respect”.

Further plans to modernise recruitment have yet to be announced.

British Army will be used to drive fuel tankers, the UK business secretary has confirmed in a statement

Kwasi Kwarteng has confirmed the army will be called in after it was put on standby, but help won't be coming straight away.

"It takes a couple of days, sometimes a few days, to get troops on the ground," he told reporters.

"We have decided to do that and I think in the next couple of days people will see some soldiers driving the tanker fleet."
