Oki, yesterday on August 22, the Rockin'The Rez Bullarama event took place. It took place here on Siksika at the Siksika Nation Rodeo Grounds and was an exciting electrifying event that was filled with excitement. There was an opening ceremony and dancing that took place as well. Article with more information will be out soon on Aitsiniki.com.

Oki, on Wednesday August 21st the Mens Warrior program had a Handgame Night for their participants. It took place upstairs in the gym. It was very awesome to see everyone learn and have fun! article will be out soon!

Oki, here is a few pictures from the Medicine Wheel Student/Youth Conference which is taking place today and tomorrow August 19th and 20th. This is happening at the Deerfoot Sportsplex and includes Guest Speakers, breakout sessions, and so much more pertaining to Blackfoot Culture. This is going on right now until 4:30pm so be sure to go and check it out. Here are some photos from that dance performance that took place during lunch today.

Last year was a great turn out and this year, the Powwow is happening on August 27th outside the Siksika Piiksapi Arbour. The poster is provided below for more information. Join us for the 4th Annual Cultural Climbing Camp. Come climb, hang out, & learn from each other, community leaders, climbing guides and our Elders. This event is open to BIPOC folks of all genders.
The Cultural Climbing Camp is a meaningful opportunity to enhance your climbing skills while deepening your connection with our Elders, the land, and our community. Whether you’re new to climbing or have experience, we’re here to support you. If you’re just starting out, we’ll introduce you to climbing in a welcoming and supportive environment with the help of our dedicated guides and team. For those who are already experienced climbers, we’re excited to build on your skills and help you with any questions you may have as you continue your climbing journey.
This weekend will provide valuable opportunities to share experiences and connect with our Elders. They will lead discussions and share their wisdom about Indigenous traditions, enriching our understanding and connection with the land.

Merrie-Beth “MB” Board has been guiding within many communities and always provides a good laugh while getting the job done. MB moved to Whistler when she was 19 years old and pursed her passion for the mountains. We’re excited to have her join us this year, patient, kind and tremendous guide and leader.
Phil Widmer has joined us over the years through the camp and youth programming. We enjoy working with Phil because of his humility and ability to connect with others. You can find him dabbling with skis of all kinds, bikes and rocks. Also, a newly appointed Arc’teryx ambassador. We’re happy to continue having him on the team.
We’re excited to have Arc'teryx Alberta and Arc'teryx continue to be the primary partner of the Cultural Climbing Camp & for their longstanding support.
Additionally, we are proud to partner with Yamnuska Mountain Adventures for guides & rentals. Also thank you to the The Alpine Club of Canada for help with accommodations.

Oki, Siksika Media has two Summer students! Joshua Winnipeg and Katelyn Running Rabbit. Here is one of our summer students Joshua! He will be on the Radio from Monday to Friday at Noon and his first show is today. We are so thankful that we have a Summer Student Radio DJ! He will also be attending events as well. Oki, On Tuesday the 9th, Doug Winnipeg spent the day with the high school math and science summer camp as a representative of Siksika Nation Engineering Services. It was a wonderful time for many of the participants who took part!

Oki! We had the great pleasure of having the Band Ekkohs come into the station, this is part of our Get To Know where our Media Specialist Jasmine Majoros brings in a Nation Member for an interview! The members are Hudson And Lexington Many Heads, they are currently working on their debut album which will be released on August 15th. Oki! Today Gordon Red Crow opened the Siksika Arcade and Bearspaw Chinese and Western Cuisine, located right beside the community centre. The kitchen will consist of Asian, pub grub, and powwow food such as burgers, Bannock burgers, fries, etc. The Arcade includes a lot of retro games that we all know and love, with three pool tables included for pool players. Oki, Siksika White Buffalo hosted the Honouring Our First Nations Youth camp, which took place down at the Siksika Piiksapi Memorial Arbour, it was organized by Three Eagles Wellness Society, this was held from July 15th to July 19th.
