Man Reportedly killed by Kidnapper on his way to pay Ransom for his brother who was kidnapped in Lafia, Nasarawa state

His name is Abdullahi Ali, he was killed in lafia east development area by unknown gunmen yesterday on his way precisely fadama-ashiege road to pay ransom of his brother who was kidnapped.

How much do you know about Nigeria, especially her leaders? Who founded the Central Bank of Nigeria? Did you know that Obasanjo had no shoe when he wooed his first wife? Also, only two states, Ogun and Katsina, have produced the most civilian Presidents in Nigeria's 56-year old history? Read on:

1. Till date, no President/Head of State has been born in or after 1960, the year Nigeria got her independence.

2. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is the only President whose exact year of birth is unknown. He was shoeless when he wooed his first wife, Remi. He is diabetic. He’s the only president to lose his wife, Stella, while in office.

3. Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan are the only Vice Presidents to ever become President in the nation.

4. Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari are the only persons in the nation’s history to rule as both Military Head of State and Civilian President.

5. The two Presidents who succeeded Obasanjo, first as Head of State in 1979 and as President in 2007 did not complete their tenures.

Nick Vujicic was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder that prevented him from growing any arms or legs. This came as a surprise to his mother, who refused to hold him after giving birth to him, and to his father, who ran into the hallway vomiting after seeing his misshapen son. At age 10, Nick was unable to see how he could live a “normal life” full of marriage, career opportunities, or enjoyable hobbies. Believing he was nothing more than a burden to his family, he decided to commit su***de. As he was attempting to drown himself in his bathtub, Nick realized that his family would be more burdened by his absence than his presence. Instead of giving up, he “persevered through life’s challenges and discovered key principles which enabled him to find his purpose and turn obstacles into opportunities” (Vujicic, 2020).

Motivated by this newfound sense of purpose, Nick was willing to do whatever it took to achieve his dreams, even if that meant failing again and again until he found success. He cherished the thought of a future family and wanted desperately to find peace with himself. These values kept him going and carried him through discouraging setbacks.

Today, Nick is a successful husband, father, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker. He has achieved one of his greatest goals in life and is happily married with four children. When he is not with his beautiful family, he travels the world speaking to millions of people about his unique situation. In 2007, he founded Attitude is Altitude, which is a curriculum for grades K-12 to promote social and emotional learning. Armed bandits kill woman who attempted to escape kidnap in Benue

An engineer, Martha Kwaghdoo Anderson was brutally killed by armed bandits on the Makurdi-Naka Road in Benue State.

It was gathered that the woman was shot dead by the gunmen while trying to escape a kidnap on Thursday evening, December 28, 2023.

The Naka/Makurdi Road has become notorious for kidnapping.

Some motorists said the deplorable state of the road was responsible for the frequent abductions along the federal highway.

Details of the sad incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, friends, family members and colleagues have taken to Facebook to mourn her.

Girlfriend shoots policeman to death in Imo

A policeman attached to the Imo State Police Command, Cosmas Ugwu, has been shot dead by his girlfriend.
Ugwu was shot dead on Tuesday by his 23-year-old lover, who was identified as Amanda Uchechi Ugo, a native of Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was gathered from reliable sources that the incident occurred around 6:30pm on Boxing Day at the Ezinihitte Area Command.Officers on counter duty were said to have heard three gunshots from the room being occupied by the deceased officer. It was reported that the remains of the slain officer had been deposited at the Obizi mortuary, while further investigation continues.The suspect is currently in the police custody for interrogation and possible prosecution.

President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

The President's withdrawal of the above-mentioned nomination is directed with immediate effect.

All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.

*LIFE AND TIME OF AN IMMUTABLE* *HERO: SIR ABRAHAM ALOKO AUDU(1928-1988* )

Sir Abraham Aloko Audu was a blazing icon, a political consultant, an agitator for the upholding of human dignity and a highly reputable elderstate man in the affairs of Migili nation. He was distinguished for his proficiency in knowledge and leadership. Being one among few heroes who pioneered modern civilization in Migili land in the pre Independence era, he nurtured most of our elites all facets of knowledge and exposure.

Born to the family of Dawudu Dadire & Mashan Kalo of Itsi Zhemodu Gude in present day Obi local government in 1928. He was brought up in Gidan Ausa, Musha with his maternal uncles; late Baba Giwa; and after the demised of Baba Giwa, he stayed with late Mr Samuel DaSamiya Agya. He attended S U M Junior Primary School Gidan Ausa shortly after it was established between 1946-1949 before proceeding to Senior Primary School Randa in Kaduna State from 1951-1954. He later Attended S I M Teachers College Kaltungo (then in Bauchi State), but now in Gombe State where he graduated as a Grade 3 Teacher in 1957. Mr Abraham and his friend, late Mr Dallah Kyari were the first set of Grade 3 Teachers in Migili land, who both graduated in 1957. He started his teaching career at the famous S U M Primary School Gidan Ausa in 1958. His quest for more knowledge propelled him to enroll for Advance Teachers College (A T C) when the institution began
then temporary in Jos in 1975. (Now College of Education Akwanga); where he was admitted to study History/Geography. He was the pioneer Student Union Government *(SUG) President* at the time. Subsequently, he undergone an Advance Diploma in Primary School Supervision programme at the famous Ahmadu Bello University Zaria between 1982-1983. He continued his teaching career until he became Headmaster where he worked in Awe, Giza, Gidan Buba, Adogi, Agwade, Daddere (to mention just but few).
His legacies cannot be forgotten in time

✡️EXCLUSIVE UPDATE

Federal Government, Labour Unions Agree On The Following ::

i) The Federal Government has announced N25,000 only as provisional wage increment for all treasury-paid federal government workers for six months.

ii) The Federal Government is committed to fast-tracking the provision of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to ease public transportation difficulties associated with the removal of PMS subsidy.

iii) The Federal Government commits to the provision of funds for micro and small-scale enterprises.

iv) VAT on diesel will be waived for the next 6 months.

v) The Federal Government will commence payment of N75,000 to 15 million households at N25,000 per month, for a three-month period from October-December 2023.

RESOLUTIONS:

In light of the discussions held during the meeting, the following resolutions were reached:

i) The issues in dispute can only be resolved when workers are at work and not when they are on strike.

ii) Labour Unions argued for higher wage award and the Federal Government Team promised to present Labour’s request to President Bola Tinubu for further consideration.

iii) A sub-committee to be constituted to work out the details of implementation of all items for consideration regarding government interventions to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

iv) The lingering matter of Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State needs to be addressed urgently and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who participated virtually, pledged to resolve the matter.

v.) NLC and TUC will consider the offers by the Federal Government with a view to suspending the planned strike to allow for further consultations on the implementation of the resolutions above.
