Jacko accidentally ticked this beautiful fish off his bucket list the other day.

🐟 A black marlin.

It was caught while trolling around in 12 metres of water, about 10 minutes from the boat ramp… on a big laser pro.

We were expecting a mackerel and then THIS came up. To say we were shocked is an understatement 😂 so random!

I wanted to put this one back (me with any pretty fish!) but being Jackson’s first marlin, and the perfect size to eat, we kept him.

Jacko is the first in his family to catch a marlin so we’re also going to get the head mounted - definitely one for the memory books!

Plenty of fish to go around, the other boys at the boat ramp were stoked to all get a bit 🙌🏼

I know a lot of people don’t like keeping billfish/marlins but hey, the limit is 20 per person - and us keeping one to feed us and our mates for a while is pretty sustainable if you ask me - it’s definitely not going to effect the species as a whole. Bet those trawlers catch alot more than 20 from by-catch alone (and I bet they aren’t being eaten)

Hello 👋🏼 a little life update from us 🫶🏼

You haven’t been seeing us a lot the last few months and there’s 2 reasons for this.

We got into mining ⛏️ which we are loving. Doing FIFO is amazing and we’ve met the BEST people. But we’re 2 on 1 off. It’s getting us where we need to be for our long term goals - such an amazing feeling - but everything else has kind of been put on the back burner.

And the second reason is….
I burnt out soooo bad. Juggling work, my virtual assistant services, our online business, our personal brand, trying to looking after myself and just daily life all got the better of me. I was getting sick and suffering from migraines. I ignored the signs and kept trying to cover it up by doing “personal development” and telling myself this was “the me time I needed”

Spoiler alert… it’s not what I needed lol.

It wasn’t until I let go of everything.

Literally I put everything down - the to do lists, the VA services, our online business, our YouTube, our IG and TikTok pages, and I started reading for my own enjoyment ( or to escape - I’m not too sure which one, maybe a bit of both ) that I realised I desperately needed the mental offload.

I realised I didn’t like creating content anymore….

It felt like a task… another thing on the to do list.

Something I loved so much… I now despised.
I was over all of it. It sucked. It was a sh*tty feeling admitting all of that to myself. I felt like a bit of a failure to be honest with you.

This is quite a few months ago now. We got to go on the most incredible, relaxing trip to Bali and Gili trawangan for our 8 year anniversary and I didn’t stress about creating content and trying to posting everything. I just soaked it allllll up.

I’ve filled my cup with plenty of nothing for the past few months. Just mental rest and relaxation.

Now I’m slowly starting to find my absolute love for photography, exploring and content creation again 🥹🫶🏼 it’s starting to excite me again!

I’m so keen to show you guys what we get up to. I’m excited to share more and be more open with you all ❤️

I appreciate you all who have followed our journey from day one - over 3 years ago now when I created this Kirstey and Jacko account, and I appreciate you new followers too 🫶🏼 thank you

The online space continues to blow my mind every day.

Some people say we’re disconnected because of it.

I believe we’re EXTREMELY connected because of it.

The friends and connections we’ve made through the online world just amazes me.

When we first started our online business we didn’t know this was how it was going to be…

Working with, and alongside, incredible humans with big goals and aspirations.

People who aren’t afraid to dream big and take action.

People who aren’t afraid to take up space.

People who inspire and create daily.

People who lift others up.

People who aren’t afraid to go against the grain.

People who have your back more than your ”mates”.

People who talk about their goals… and go out and get them.

We met this amazing woman Emma Makepeace right here through the online space.

Kirstey has worked with and alongside her for two years now.

She is one of the most inspiring, real, down the earth, motivating, kind, empowering humans we know.

F**k we’re grateful to work with people like Em every day. 🙌🏼

We’re two on one off with our FIFO jobs right now ✈️

They didn’t have room for us on the same crew for 2 on 2 off… but as soon as we have our first stint with two whole weeks off you bet we’re flying here!

Bali holds a special place in our hearts. It was our first holiday together - about 6 months into dating.

I remember thinking. This is either going to make or break us. 17 days straight together… wow.

And yeah… it made us. We fell in love in Bali ❤️

People turn their nose up at Bali.
They say it’s dirty and dangerous.

I’d feel safer walking down a street there than in Brisbane CBD.

Act like an idiot, get treated like one - like anywhere 🤷🏼‍♀️

They locals are beautiful. The food is incredible. The history is fascinating. The religion/s are incredible. The scenery is breath taking ⬇️

We’ve hit some pretty incredible goals this year.
- Grew our online business bigger than ever before
- Hit our savings goals beyond what we thought we could because of the determination we put into our business
- Hit some massive personal development milestones and done some things that really benefited our inner selves
- Made some incredible memories and some even better friends

Not tooting our own horn (beep beep) just proud of us knuckling down and putting our future first.

So grateful for our new jobs and our online biz.

We always said this was our hustle year and I feel like we’re ending this year on a high.

3 months left and keen to kick it into gear even more! Yewww

THOUGHTS ON FIRST FIFO STINT ✈️

- We definitely underestimated the limited time you get to yourself on site… Next to none. Makes it tough to work on our online business and content creation BUT that’s what our time off is for.

- Don’t try and do too much. Rest when you need to… especially after night shift.

- Having literally no time to ourselves means lots of back to basics and sailing lavagabonde to catch up on when we’re home 📺

- Definitely underestimated the connections you make out there 🥹 feels like a school camp with a bunch of legends

- Night shift will knock you the hell around. 10x more than you think.

- Beers are $2.50. Enough said 🍻

- We feel for the couples and families that deal with FIFO. Very lucky and grateful to have each other out there.

- Food is better than we thought… and it’s free. Can’t complain. Except the vege options are limited… so kirstey eats a bowl of veggies every night lol

- Spent $70.50 together for 2 weeks out there. On beers, Pepsi and a few snacks. Pretty stoked with that 😂

- For a dangerous job. We’ve never felt safer 🙌🏼

Super stoked we landed these jobs. Gotta do what you gotta do to put yourself ahead 🙌🏼

Ps: writing this from the 7 hour trip home, straight after night shift with no sleep 💀 pic from where we’d rather be ❤️💫

FIFO WORK HERE WE COME ✈️

We gained the opportunity to pave a new path for ourselves through fly in fly out work in the mines ⛏️

We’ve actually wanted to do this for quite some time but it was hard to get our foot in the door.

This paired with our online business in direct social media marketing and property investment is setting us up even more for our future 😍

And get bloody ready for some epic content on our time off! Yew 🙌🏼 🎣 🏕️

So grateful for the opportunity 🙏🏼 big thanks to our mate Lucy for pulling some strings and getting us in ❤️

To have the things you want in life - you have to do the things you’ve never done

We are so willing to do whatever the hell it takes!

The fire in our belly, the sheer determination, the tenacity, the drive, the hunger…. ITS STRONGER THAN EVER.

We are big goal setters.

We set yearly goals, then monthly goals.

It’s the small steps that take you to where you want to be.

Sometimes it takes a few big leaps (usually just to get the heck out of your comfort zone)

But people think others are taking this HUGE MASSIVE OVERWHELMING RIDICULOUS TONY ROBBINS style action… DAILY.

When in reality, a lot of those you see doing the things you wanna do - are just setting goals and taking the small steps it takes to get there.

When you break a big goal down into 12-24 months and see the smaller steps it takes to achieve it… it’s not so scary. And it seems so much more manageable.

💰 “I thought when I started travelling I’d just start making money”

Uhhh, no. That’s not how building a business works.

You still need show up, learn, speak to clients, implement, test, read, create, schedule and so much more.

People ask us often “do you have to be travelling to make money online?”

No you don’t! AT ALL! And we recommend you utilise the time you have in a stable environment and even with a full time job to build a business up!

We built our affiliate marketing business around our full time jobs for 7-8 months before hitting the road.

We did an 1-2 hours a day every day until we started to see results.

We showed up for every meeting.

We learnt the systems and implemented them.

IF YOU ARE WORKING A 9-5 JOB RIGHT NOW - you are in the PERFECT position to start something on the side - that could eventually overtake your current salary.

This is exactly why we have settled down over the last 5 months, maybe even 12 - we’ll see how we go

Building a business isn’t a walk in the park.

Throw travelling, sight seeing, driving, early mornings, late nights, living out of a car, crap reception, pooping in a hole sometimes 🫣… into the mix - and your routine is out the window 😂

Our business started to suffer because we weren’t used to juggling travel, life and biz yet.

And we’re still learning - and that’s ok.

But we’re willing to do whatever it takes to be successful….

Literally…

We are like a dog with a bone… we will not stop 😂

And that includes settling down, renting a room (the aircon is sooooo good) working jobs for a bit, all while HUSTLING on our online business and our other streams of income.

For us 2023 is our hustle year - I’ve said it 100 times and I’ll say it again. Hustle hustle hustle.

We want to invest in (even more) real estate. 🏠

We want to make (even more) money with our Enagic business. 💦

We want to make (even more) money with social media. 📱

Sometimes, you’ve got to give up a bit of part time fun for your future self, and we’re willing to do that….

WE WASTED A YEAR OF OUR LIVES 🤦🏼‍♂️

When we first started looking at ways to create a second income we looked into the typical oils, makeup and beauty products, protein powders etc

Then we started looking into drop shipping or being an Amazon affiliate.

But none of those things resonated with us because of a few things:

- Making low return for the amount of work you put in
- Systems that try to get you to sell to mates or family
- Promoting products on your personal page flat out

Nah not for us.

Then we came across high ticket sales through social media marketing…
And we thought… yeah that sounds like something we could see ourselves doing.

THEN WE SAT ON THE FENCE FOR A WHOLE YEAR!

we used the “not enough time” excuse for a year.
we used the “it isn’t the right time” excuse for a year.
we used the “don’t have spare pennies” excuse for a year.

But you know what we did do during that year?

- spent way too much time and money at the local pub.
- spent every Sunday sleeping in and feeling sorry for ourselves… then spending more money on “hangover fixes”
- spent hours and hours and HOURS watching Netflix during that year
- scrolled till our thumbs were sore before getting out of bed, and when getting into bed

Then all of a sudden something changed and we kind of realised what we were doing.

We become self aware. Terrifyingly self aware.

We became aware of the fact if we didn’t change anything - this would be our life. Forever. 🤢

We learnt everything we could about building a brand, about growth, about social media, about marketing, about copywriting, about getting to know your ideal client, about the products, about helping people.

We spent hours unlearning the 💩 school taught you.

2 years later, we’re still not where we want to be, but we’re well on our way to it.

Imagine if we used those excused for another 2 years 💀

Learning new skills sometimes isn’t easy.
Getting out of your comfort zone isn’t easy.
Reaching out to someone for help isn’t easy.

🤔 You know what else isn’t easy?
Staying where you are, in a job you don’t like, with no time, with no energy, with less money than you’d like to show for it all.
