Meet Player Don Walsh, who has stepped in to fill in for one of the players that had to step down.

Don’s first dip into gaming came about in fourth grade and he’s been hooked ever since. It’s now over forty years later and he’s not given up on it yet. Someday, he’ll get it right.

In the meantime, this has included a deep dive into Live Action Role-Playing, where he’s taken several turns running individual events as well as working on creative teams and acting as general manager. Between all of this running around in the woods hitting people with boffer weapons (for fun and profit), he’s found time to write an M&M Superlink book of characters covering the ages of comic books (“Deus ex Historica”) and a horror game called 4Saken (derived from the open source 4C system).

His experiences in writing and creating game worlds, campaigns, books, and LARPs within the realms of fantasy, superheroes, and horror have led him to help advise on the development of other projects, such as editing scripts for the “Nyctophobia” audio horror series (from Jincan Productions) and the independent fantasy series pilot “On Tap”. He’s also heavily involved in the Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous game con out of Great Falls, Montana.

In his free time, he camps, cooks, bakes, and enjoys cuddling with his cats and his wife, Sarah.

Oh, by the way, did he forget to mention he does all this out of New England? Yeah, born and bred just north of Boston, but his second home is definitely Big Sky Country, and looking forward to going back regularly.

We will be filming June 18 & 19, 9:30 AM to 4 PM at the Helena Civic TV studio in Helena, MT. We are aiming to get enough done for six episodes.

Finally was able to get someone that seemed to understand the questions we were asking re: the website. However, it can take up to 48 hours for changes to propagate, so it will be another two days possibly before we know if it worked. If this doesn't work, we'll be looking into moving our webhosting.

We are in the process of setting up a Discord server where folks can interact, discuss Marching Order, gaming in general, or whatever you want (within reason, of course). We'll have a private channel where our sponsors and IndieGoGo supporters can interact directly and privately with the players, creative team, and production team, also. Link will be available soon!

Our website (https://marchingorder.biz) is not accessible right now and apparently hasn't been for some time. We are in the process of trying to get this straightened out, so our website is back up and running. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Moving Forward

It's been way too long since the last update and it's time to fill y'all in on what's been going on. Initially, we were slowed down by the Covid pandemic. Travel restrictions and it just being generally unsafe to gather in groups meant putting things on hold. Then our director and producer was diagnosed with cancer. Then one of our players, Connie, was diagnosed with cancer. All of this combined brought things to a screeching halt. In the midst of all this we lost two players; Miles had to bow out for personal reasons and Andrew had to bow out because he took a job in Canada.

Though Covid is far from over, it has gotten better. Connie has had surgery and radiation treatment, and director Rob Hoffman is continuing to undergo treatment but is eager to move forward on this project. Therefore we are in the process of finalizing the dates for shooting in June. To replace the lost players, we're adding Don Walsh (Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous board member and designer of the 4Saken horror RPG from Purple Duck Games) and Khristian Collins (freelance artist) who will both fly in from Massachusetts and Tennessee respectively for the filming. We are also changing up our filming format somewhat to make it easier on the director of photography and post-production.

Finally, the campaign world has undergone/is undergoing some major revisions. This shouldn't affect viewers as what little we did for the promo footage won't affect the overall campaign at all.

Naturally, all the goals and perks are being pushed back to better fit this new arrangement.
