Real madrid has a winning history.
Real Madrid, the most successful club in Spanish football, was named the 20th century by FIFA after winning a record 31 La Liga titles, 18 Copa del Rey, 8 Spanish Super Cups and 9 UEFA records Most successful football club Champions League, two UEFA Cups, one European Super Cup and three Intercontinental Cups. Real Madrid is a founding member of FIFA. The word "Real" in the club's name means "royal" in Spanish and was used by King Alfonso XIII in 1920. Awarded with the crown in the emblem.
Real Madrid won their first league title in the fourth edition. Their performance kept them undefeated in the championship game. The following year they won again, becoming the first team in history to win the league twice. A month before the Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936, Real Madrid won the Republic Cup against Barcelona.
Real Madrid has a slight lead on the all-time winning streak thanks to a recently ended winning streak. The Whites have won five games in a row, including four in La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, until Barcelona's 4-0 La Liga victory at the Bernabeu in March this year.
Barcelona is better than real madrid because
At national level, Barcelona also has more trophies. The Catalans have won a total of 74 titles in Spain, 10 more than rivals Real Madrid, who have won 65. Barcelona have fewer league titles than the Blancos, but no one has more Copa del Rey trophies than them.
As of March 2022, Barcelona has surpassed Real Madrid in Google searches in the past 12 months. Real Madrid have had the upper hand in Barcelona since 1929, winning more La Liga titles, having a better average league standings, winning more El Clasicos, and holding more prestigious trophies.
Real Madrid and Barcelona both drew in the Champions League midweek, but their European results made their mood quite different as they approached their 185th La Liga match on Sunday. While Madrid's latest equaliser against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday sealed qualification for the Round of 16 title, Barca's similarly late equaliser against Inter Milan at home the following night was not enough to stop the Italians from standing in the knockout stages. Stand firm. - The cost of the Catalan's turn. Barca will now need a small miracle to avoid a second consecutive group exit in Europe's elite club competition. Given how deep the Blaugrana has funded a record-breaking summer transfer spree, they can barely afford the financial cost of being knocked out of the Champions League.
Real madrid is better than barcelona because
The debate over which is the most decorated club in Spanish football continues. While Real Madrid dominate in main competitions, with 34 leagues and 11 European Cups, Barcelona have a higher number of total trophies. The Catalans can also boast the fact that they have lifted defunct trophies which their bitter rivals will never be able to.
Real Madrid (59.9%) and Barcelona (57.8%) are the only two La Liga clubs to have played in more than one season of the competition and hold a win ratio higher than 50%. Both clubs have won far more games in the competition than any other, while Real became the first club to surpass 1,750 wins in the competition back in November 2021.
Real Madrid proved to be far too strong for Barcelona and indeed the rest of the competition in La Liga last term, ultimately finishing 13 points clear of the Catalan giants at the summit, but it does appear that this season's title race will be a lot closer.
Barcelona is more diverse.
As early as the 1930s, Barcelona "had developed a reputation as a symbol of Catalan identity, opposed to the centralising tendencies of Madrid". In 1936, when Francisco Franco started the Coup d'état against the democratic Second Spanish Republic, the president of Barcelona, Josep Sunyol, member of the Republican Left of Catalonia and Deputy to The Cortes, was arrested and executed without trial by Franco's troops (Sunyol was exercising his political activities, visiting Republican troops north of Madrid). During the dictatorships of Miguel Primo de Rivera and especially Francisco Franco, all regional languages and identities in Spain were frowned upon and restrained. As such, most citizens of Barcelona were in strong opposition to the fascist-like regime. In this period, Barcelona gained their motto Més que un club (English: More than a club) because of its alleged connection to Catalan nationalist as well as to progressive beliefs.
Since that moment -- not exclusively but notably -- new sets of fans outside of the Spanish capital and Catalonia were born, and LaLiga has encouraged this growth. In a sports landscape where the Premier League dominates and other European competitions continue to fight for financial and marketable success, El Clasico remains of interest around the world.
