As we witness the ongoing genocide taking place in Gaza, we firmly stand in solidarity with our Palestinian community. We are deeply saddened by the enormous suffering and loss of life in Palestine.

BUJA is a Copenhagen based DJ, radio host, and producer inspired by the sounds of the diaspora. He promises African and Latin styles, an array of bouncy percussion, and UK bass sounds that will keep you grooving.

Based in Copenhagen, born in Aarhus and of Tanzanian descent, Jolie explores sounds from Africa and the African diaspora. From beats with Highlife samples to Gqom, Kuduro and beyond, she aspires to bring you unique selections, old and new that are not necessarily found on the top music charts.

Gather your African and Black friends & lovers, and let's dance like there's no tomorrow!

Fana' is a mixed-Kurdish producer & DJ from NYC. Her work focuses on archiving music and art from indigenous cultures throughout West Asia, Central Asia and North Africa.

a note from the curator: I chose to start this mix with an Arabic song by Najat al Saghira whose father was Mohammad Hosny Al Baba, a Kurdish calligrapher from Rukneddine of the Al Baba tribe. Most people are aware of how prominent her sister Soad Hosny was in Egyptian cinema but the Hosny family's Kurdishness is much less acknowledged (even Mohammad Hosny's wikipedia page has been edited, his Kurdish ethnicity removed from his bio). Al Qarib Menak Ba3eed tells the story of a love that is far when it is near and near when it is far, a love that can't be touched but is felt immensely. My personal canon is that Najat is secretly singing to Kurdistan and a Kurdish identity she can never show pride for. Yanî I'm probably definitely wrong but a diasporic girl
with ancestor syndrome can dream.

DJ Jibril is an up-and-coming dj based in Copenhagen whose focus is the 2000s music scene from all over the world. But also, music from the African diaspora.
Their sets can range from reggaeton to afrobeat to rock to whatever is currently on the music scene.

BILLOW_40 is a Copenhagen-based musician, dj, radiohost and co-founder of Fragment Radio. With a curios yet nostalgic ear, Billow explores a range of sounds from UKG, House, Pop, R&B and experimental outliers, all with a solid foundation in soulful expression.

On December 17th we are presenting Tara & Sarma.

Tara & Sarma collaborate for the disintegration of oppression. With odes to trip hop, they combine bollywood and carnatic samples, with which they move into a sphere of melancholic, dystopian, dark pop. Join them through a setlist on the emotional turmoil of racist gaslighting, through the fall of colonialism, to the revenge of nonhuman animals.

Dec 17th we are excited to showcase a live performance with Neli Pantsulaia, one of the people behind Fragment Radio.

Neli Pantsulaia is a Copenhagen-based Georgian composer, raised in Moscow and Tbilisi. She completed a master’s degree in music composition from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (2020)
Her works are strongly influenced by various elements and images of human perception, evoking authenticity, conceptual form, and nostalgia. In her music, Neli works cross-genres and emphasizes a dramaturgy-based narrative by using different art forms.
This event will include her performance of "Camouflage Denial" - an assemblage of industrial soundscapes and grieving songs written during her recent travels.

On December 17th we are looking forward to showcase a person who is a force in curation of different club culture concepts in Copenhagen, N.E.GIRL.

N.E.GIRL is a Copenhagen based DJ, from London with a focus on rave and bass genres. Heavily
inspired by the UK underground and alternative clubs scenes, she has developed a reputation for her
multi-genre bass driven style, performing across the UK and europe.
A club promoter and curator for Strøm festival, N.E.GIRL aims to showcase innovative styles either
within her sets or through the events she programmes, exploring the boundaries of multi-genre mixing

The German-raised Iraqi artist Cynnamon established herself quickly in the Copenhagen club scene, where she gained a residency at Uumphff (now: Fragment) Radio. For this party, she will select the best tracks in order to create a metamorphosis between old and new, melodic, and crude.
