This delicate and detailed top is inspired by later Victorian era blouses which started to feature lace—lace had tended to be on undergarments only up until then. The top is full of contrasting texture: the straight lines of the body, the picot mesh of the chest and shoulders and the delicate ruffle across the front. They look great together and make this an interesting make with lots of opportunities to learn or practice your skills. This garment has lots of drape which makes it comfortable to wear.

test crocheted the tilted Block Shawl featured in the September 2024 issue and we really dig her bold color choices.

She shared this, which also makes her particular stripes that much more beautiful: "I tested it while sitting with Mom, using her stash, planning ahead that this would be my Remembrance shawl when she’s no longer here to sit and crochet and love me.. She’s fine! But there’s nothing that says we can’t make a memory of someone while they are still here, and having her watch it grow and touch it makes it that much more special."
