Reading aloud to our children is one of the most important things we can do for our children as parents. Starting as young as infancy helps children learn to speak, interact, and bond with parents.
Reading aloud to our children shouldn't stop once they learn to read--reading aloud to children once they already know how to read allows them to feel close to their caretakers, further understand the world around them, and become more empathetic.

I love these why read quotes talking about the mental and emotional benefits from reading and reading aloud. The one that hits me the most is 40% of kids ages 6-11 wished their parents had not stopped reading to them.

I must admit I read more to my littles than to my bigs (ages 6 and 10) So I'm figuring out where I can create that time.
