As stated on our website, freeallmysuns.org, Shontae does this work because she hopes that “...we can begin the healing process for both the families that lost a loved one through violence as well as the families that lost their loved one to the prison system. Without healing, compassion, and empathy, our communities will continue the cycle of violence towards one another as well as the wars in our minds.”

As of right now, some of the things we have going on are:
Project JOY: With the help of generous donors, we send personalized, uplifting cards and books to prisoners monthly to let them know that they are thought of and being prayed for.🙏🏽

FAMS Publishing: Through partnerships with writers, editors, website developers, graphic artists, and marketing experts, we help prisoners self-publish their books and share their literary art and creativity with the world.📚🌎

Podcast: A podcast showing support, uplifting, and encouraging anyone who has an incarcerated family member or loved one.🎙

Coding & Technology Training: Through a partnership with a top Cyber Security and Software Engineering firm, we are happy to offer FREE online coding classes in cyber security, website development, and video game programming.👩🏽‍💻

Construction Training & Employment: If you or someone you know is interested in learning how to work or train with us on local residential and commercial construction projects, please complete the interest form on our website.👷🏽‍♀️👷🏽

Coming Soon: This year, FAMS is in the works of creating a mentorship program focused on connecting the children of prisoners with a mentor in hopes of assisting them through this transition. Keep an eye out for more info coming later this year!☀️

Born and raised in the Hill, Ra'Sun has been incarcerated for over 29 years after being sentenced to life for a crime that he committed at the age of 17.

His thoughts are well put together in this book, painting a vivid picture of a reality that some are currently experiencing, about to experience, and some who have already experienced and survived to tell about it.

FAMS is committed to uplifting, supporting, and encouraging those that are dealing with the consequences and effects of incarceration and/or having a loved one that is incarcerated.

My team and I strive to reverse the negative impact that incarceration has on our community.

We continuously strive to expand awareness of the systematic oppression taking place in our community and come up with executable solutions to help change the narrative and the trajectory of our communities.

Helping prisoners publish their creative works and allowing the proceeds to go to victim services and resources for their loved ones, is one way we are doing that.

**None of the prisoners directly benefit from the proceeds of the book sales.

So, no matter your stance on incarceration, help support the community and victim service programs and the families of the incarcerated by purchasing a book for yourself, someone else, or a friend/family member in prison.
