Let me be your reminder that starting over is not shameful itā€™s admirable! Staying focused this year has been so meaningful because Iā€™ve taken care of myself inside and out despite whatā€™s happening around me and itā€™s paying off in a big way šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

So many amazing things happening for your gworl and for that you know who we give the praise to šŸ™ŒšŸ¾

I gotta testifyā€¦.

1. Iā€™m officially down a little more than -30 lbs šŸ¤ÆšŸ‘šŸ¾šŸ’ŖšŸ¾

2. My intent was to start in January and I did for a few weeks and then life happened šŸ« 

3. After going off the rails in April I decided either I try again or I give up foreverā€¦

4. I am a nutrition and weightloss coach so I have the knowledge to understand weightloss in black women specifically because I go hard with my personal educationā€¦.

so I started and although I have my moments I wonā€™t give up on myself and Iā€™m living proof thatā€¦.

My updated progress picturesā€¦. I havenā€™t posted about my own personal weightloss in a whileā€¦.

This year has thrown me for a loop but in a good way. This month I have really went hard and Iā€™m officially down -15 from the beginning of the year.

Iā€™m hoping to get down another 20lbs in a few months. Someone asked me why I have to keep starting over and the truth is we all go through battles unseen that will unfortunately affect your weight as a woman.

Iā€™m challenging all of yā€™all to take back your power and get healthy again mind, body, and soul however that looks for you.

-30lbs is shown in this side-by-side transformation. This comparison was done at the end of February.

Hereā€™s what I did to drop those lbs:
ā€¢changed my view of weightlossā€¦itā€™s not a singular thing itā€™s balance āœ”ļø

ā€¢I stopped punishing myself for food choices: eat it and move on guilt-free (understand the consequences of your food choices but donā€™t stress yourself over it)šŸ’•

ā€¢I stopped letting the internet make me feel guilty for not doing keto šŸ˜³šŸ˜‚

ā€¢I took my time and enjoyed the ride. I wanted to put in the work regardless of the time because that really doesnā€™t matterā€¦itā€™s passing ā° you by as we speak!

ā€¢I wanted sustainably so I didnā€™t go crazy strict with my diet I lost it super slow. So when I eat crazy or travel I donā€™t gain crazy weight.

Iā€™ve been MIA but Iā€™m back to share my journeyā€¦so many exciting things happening at one timeā€¦yā€™all are going to flip your wigs when things start to reveal šŸ˜‚

Just here to give you a little motivation this morningā€¦.

I started working out in the fall of last year because I knew I needed a head start on 2022 šŸ¤£ j/k

I knew I was out of shape and I wanted to get my fitness level back so after months of working out Iā€™m just now seeing resultsā€¦

I lift weights and do cardio workouts 4-5X a week! Work your way up to that again itā€™s taken me a while to not only get back in shape and to be consistent.

Would you believe there is not any weight difference in these pictures?

Just proof that building muscle is lit šŸ”„ and girl for the final time šŸ¤¬that scale!

I made the Dacy Dash BLT Recipe (Discovering Dacy )but I turned it into a salad!

Ingredients:

- Arugula Salad Mix
- Sliced Tomato
- Purple Onion
- Candied Bacon
- Half of an Avocado
- Chopped Pecans
- Feta Cheese

How to prepare the Candied Bacon:

-Pyure Harmless Honey šŸÆ
-Swerve Brown Sugar

Salad Dressing: I turned the Garlic Aioli into a dressing by adding

- Lemon Juice
-Red Wine Vinegar

It was delicious šŸ¤¤ So I hope you enjoy it!

Air-fried Roasted Garlic Parmesan Chicken! šŸ˜‹

Serving 6-8
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Carbs Per Serving: 0 Net Carbs

INGREDIENTS:
1 whole Chicken
3tbs Garlic Butter
1 tbs Olive Oil
2tbs Garlic Salt
1tbs Salt/Pepper
1tbs Cajun Seasoning
1tbs Garlic Powder
1tbs Lemon Pepper
1tbs Poultry Seasoning
1tbs Paprika
1tbs Fres/ or Dried parsley

GARLIC PARMESAN SAUCE:
1/4cup Grated Parmesan
2tbs Butter
1tbs Leoman Pepper or Trader's Garlic Onion
1/2 Fresh Lemon Juice
1tsp Fresh Parsley

PRO TIP: You can buy garlic butter already prepared at the local grocery store and Sam's Club!

DIRECTIONS:
1. Wash, clean, and butterfly your chicken as pictured.
2. Heat your air fryer to 325 or the lowest setting
3. Season chicken generously and rub slightly melted garlic butter all over! Rub olive oil over chicken before placing in air fryer skin side up!
4. Cook for 40 minutes uncovered.
5. To make the basting liquid heat butter for 15 seconds and stir in the rest of the ingredients. Pour over chicken while in the air fryer.
6. Air fry for 5-7 minutes or until skin is crispy. Use more butter sauce to baste before serving!

I had to share this one with you guys, it was too good to keep to myself! Let me know if you enjoy it!

Jerk Salmon and Garlic Cauliflower Mash šŸ˜‹

Salmon -
+ Rinse well

Then make your paste as your top coating for the salmon

Jerk Paste -
+ Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning (Hot & Spicy)qw232
+ Grace Jamaican Dried Jerk Seasoning
+ Trader Joe's Cuban Style Citrusy Garlic Seasoning Blend
+ Tony Chachere's Seasoning Creole
+ Add some olive oil to make it a paste consistency

Add to the top of your salmon

+Pan sear in butter and enjoy

I love Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad so I recreated it at home along with a homemade ranch dressing! Itā€™s delicious and tastes even better than Chick-fil-A šŸ‘€

Salad Ingredients šŸ„—:
+ Hearts of Romaine lettuce
+ Cherub Tomatoes
+ Cucumber
+ Purple Onion
+ Hard-Boiled Egg
+ Fried Chicken Tenders (or grilled if you prefer)
+ Cheddar Cheese

Avocado-JalapeƱo Ranch Ingredients šŸ„‘:
+ Store-Bought Buttermilk Ranch (any brand)
+ Avocado Oil
+ Sliced Avocado
+ JalapeƱo
+ Fresh Cilantro
+ Salt/Pepper to taste
+ Small amount of water

Try this out next time you decide to make a salad and let me know how you like it āœØ

We all love a good dinner, right?

Here's one of my favorite beef recipes:

Beef Short Ribs braised in red wine šŸ·

ā€¢3-4lbs of Short Ribs
ā€¢1 bottle of cheap red wine
ā€¢Tomato Paste
ā€¢Beef Bullion
ā€¢Onion, celery, carrots
ā€¢Seasonings
ā€¢Butter

1. Season and sear off your ribs.
2. Set aside and add veggies.
3. Add red wine & tomato paste.
4. Beef stock (powder+water)
5. Add ribs back in and cook on low for 3-4 hours!

Confession: During the holidays I ate what I wanted and enjoyed doing it! šŸ˜‚

No seriously sometimes itā€™s ok to just take a step back and enjoy the time, place, or experience with loved onesā€¦

The pic on the left is after the holidays (1/2) and the right yesterday. You can change what you want and not feel bad about it. Itā€™s ok to want to look and feel differently about your body.

This week my goals are to stay on top of my routine and dig deeper into my focus!
