Holy s**t, what a weekend!! It's taken a few days for everything to sink in, me to sober up, and this hangover to go away, but WOW! Just FU***NG WOW....
Never have I seen anything like this weekend... Every band played the best set I've ever seen them play, and sounded better than I have ever heard them before!!! Everyone there said the same thing!
I'd like to take a minute to thank a few people.. Dylan B, James S, Joe Q***r and Ben with GigRite.. Theese 4 people are the unknown heros of 40 FEST.. Without them I can honestly say it would not have been near as successful as it was. Thank you for your help, I couldn't have done it with you!!! 🙏
To Monster Squad Punks & Starving Wolves - thanks for coming all the way to Atlanta to play this show! Fu***ng awesome!! It was a lifetime experience to meet you and get to know everyone... Theese guys actually live it how they sing it! Fu***ng Rockstars every one of them...
To Wrekt, The Horribles & Tank Rats - I've seen you play before, & everyone one of yall I consider a friend, but I have honestly never seen such perfection and energy from any of you! That's why I bring you back every time!!!
To Moose Knuckle and Nervous Aggression.. long time fan, first time caller.. And I'm glad I did. You guys did it right!!!
To my local heros- Billy Batts & The Made Men, The Handi-Capitalists, Antagonizers ATL, StrikeFirst, The Hanging Judge, Eliminate Earth & Rotten Stitches(10 years) as always it's an amazing experience to see my friends bands share the stage with such famous & talented acts! Yall represent Atlanta music to an immeasurable level.
To 407 and The Q***rs - getting on a big fest with 4 days and 3 days respectively to prepare, shows your availabilities and talents well! All Stars, the both of you!
To everyone that showed up- this was for you! I hope everyone of you left with memories of a lifetime, a horrible hangover, and made life long new friends. Thanks for partying in my stead, while I ran around like a chicken with its head cut off... It's been a long time since I've felt anything other than sadness & anger. But looking out at the crowd & seeing everyone having a blast moved me & For a brief moment in time I didn't feel alone In A crowded room.
I have decided I am starting a 501c non-profit record label for punk and Oi bands. 40oz records will be releasing a compilation of all the bands that played, who are willing to have their music on it. Need a album? Play a show and walk away with a full record paid for... I can't think of a better way to give back to the bands that bust their ass day in and day out, only to end the tour in debt.... There's something to be said about a band who says "we dont care how much me make, we just wanna play, and get our music out there" - E.R. ❤️
40 FEST 2022 isn't over though... LCB is coming back to Atlanta! Stay tuned for 40 FEST '22.2 announcements and lineup.
Again, what an amazing experience this has been I can't say enough about it...
"f**k what you say, this is the life
It never dies, Punk will survive"
