Willow’s Dream
By Winber Berg T. Canete
Once upon a time, there was a child named “Willow”. He loved to sleep rather than to play with his neighbors. He was an Elementary pupil that time. Before he went to sleep, he ate a lot and finished his chores as what his mother always told him. One night, when his brothers and sisters had watched television in their sala, Willow went to bed earlier since he was so tired in doing his household chores and his study. After that, when he slept, he got a dream wherein he was the main character of his own dream. Subsequently, when he was in his dream, he saw big cities wherein there were many stores, restaurants, malls, elementary schools, colleges and universities in one place. The place was very elegant. His eyes were shining because of many attractions he had been seen. He knew in himself that it was just only a dream.
One time, when he walked throughout the city, he met a beggar asking for food to eat. Willow refused the beggar and reason out that he did not have money to buy food. He emphasized that if and only if he had money in his pocket, then will have no doubt to help the old beggar. He thought that he could not help since it was just a dream. But then, when he continued to walk, he saw a mirror on the street. He got the mirror and saw himself. He wondered that his robe was very expensive. He tried to get money in his right pocket, but unfortunately he did not have as he expected. But then, when he tried to see his left pocket, he got many ATM cards. Afterwards, when he glimpse at the cards, he saw his name into it and the pins were written within the cards. He knew in himself that he was so rich. He tried to insert the cards into the Automatic Teller Machine or ATM, but the ATM is defective so he tried to withdraw over the counter and yet he succeed. Before he withdraw, he filled-out the withdrawal forms first after that he gave it to the teller then he got the money. He was so thankful that he had already known how to deposit and withdraw money from a certain bank as what being taught by his teacher in Elementary. After that, he bought the most expensive foods in his dream. He also bought fastest cars and motorcycles in one day. He enjoyed in his dream very much. He lived like a one day millionaire.
Without thinking, his money in the bank was almost gone. He did not feel the importance of saving because he always depended that it was just a wonderful dream. However, the time came that he did not have enough money in his pocket. He tried to wake himself up because he relied that it was just a dream but then he cannot wake-up and locked up in his dream. He ran to the portal to get back into reality but there were guards on the portal. He begged the guards that he must get out of his dreams before he could not wake up anymore.
The guard told him that if and only if Willow would change his habit, he would let him pass on the portal and get back to life. Willow promised that he would change his attitudes towards spending a lot without budgeting his money. He learned that he must save money in the bank through depositing and withdrawing according to his needs. Thus, the guards let him pass and Willow woke up in his sleep. He learned that it was very important to know how to fill-up forms accurately like deposit and withdrawal forms; and saving is very important because if somebody would in need, you could withdraw your money according to their needs.
