Good evening. If you are reading this I hope you are both warm and well my friend.

This evening I would like to address some criticism in regards to season 2 of Coffee&Carbuncles. Some people have noted that in the previous two episodes the roleplay elements have been feeling a bit rushed and also that the podcast has been feeling less intimate this season due to my changing from using single person focused verbiage such as "me and my guest" to "our audience" and "Everyone listening".

I want to start by saying that this is true. It is very fair criticism and I am glad it has been brought up. To begin with lets talk about the reasons. In regards to the roleplay elements being toned down, that is because the holiday season was very busy and sadly I just didn't have time to sit down and do as much script writing as I'd have preferred. It takes a bit of time to make a solid RP opening scene and sadly that is time I just haven't had due to the holidays.

Now lets talk about the language. It is true that I have shifted to using terms that address a larger group and that is because, well, the audience has become larger. At the start of the podcast it was very easy to talk as though I was only addressing one person because that is all of whom I thought would be listening to this podcast. As the audience has grown it does feel as though I am speaking to a much larger group of people. Though that is my viewpoint as the content creator. I can see how as the individual listening to the podcast at that particular time the change in language would feel far less intimate for you and I want to say that I am sorry.

What I want to say to you all is that I have heard this feedback and not this upcoming episode, but in the March episode of Coffee&Carbuncles I will be making a few changes. Between the February and March episodes I will have more time to write a proper script which does mean better RP elements. Also in regards to language I will have more time to better craft the questions and script back towards that individual listener language and mindset. My hope is to bring the podcast back to that Season 1 Episode 2 feel. Back to that first Holiday special with my first few guests kind of RP vibe that people are use to with the podcast.

I hope this helps. I hope you all will look forward to the February episode still, and now also look forward to the March episode after it. Thank you so much for the feedback and as always thank you so much for listening to the podcast.

So, in a prime example of "this is why we check our recording BEFORE we release it" I thought I put 4-5 seconds of winter blizzard sounds at the start of tomorrow's episode. NOPE. turns out I clicked the wrong version of the audio file and instead put in the full 24 minutes of winter blizzard audio. So if I didn't check before releasing, a solid 1/4 of tomorrow's episode would have just been blizzard white noise.

So in regards to the Youtube channel the plan is to put the podcast on Youtube to have it on Youtube. The videos will probably just be a splash screen of the podcast logo to start.

Later on they will be replaced with more animated videos. But that will happen over time. I'm still working on my video editing and I have to find times and places to meet with the various guests I've had on the podcast in Seasons 1 and 2.

I find myself a little sad that this is the last patch for island sanctuary (that we know of). I really enjoyed it and i think its a solid direction for side content. Tbh i wish we had it since ARR or it would actually be a more permanent thing.

Though, it does really make me wonder about why, if this is possible, do we even still have housing the way it is as opposed to housing how FFXI did it and everything is instanced. Though I suppose if that was the case then you wouldn't have quite the same sense of "community" and "neighborhoods" as the housing districts seem to provide.
