I didn't have a lot to do today, but since the world is talking about Toilet Paper, I thought I'd design a roll in After Effects.
This uses some images for textures, but there are no templates, plugins, or pre-sets being used. This is all from scratch.
It's basically a TP texture in a cylinder and again in a line, with the textures moving inside that shape
The core is the same with rendering on the inside of the cylinder rather than outside.
The top of the roll is just a picture of a roll top.
All move in time with each other and I set up a slider to make it easy in case I want to use this comp in the future.
Video 2 of 2 for a 3D printed logo for Erickson's... (He chose vid #1 by the way, but I have to admit that I think this idea also had potential...)

This is a simple introduction video I did for the Dry Dock. I wanted to make the ending smoother, but the owner said he liked it just fine the way it was, and so that's where it got published.

Work in progress for the Dry Dock. I designed their logo and am hoping to help them with social media.
I want to clean up a few things on this video The feet on the second page and the transition from the 3D book to the logo.
Building a 3D video, even when using templates or stock material, is a lot of steps. I thought I'd use the flaming motorcycle I used with HIGH OCTANE POWERSPORTS to illustrate. Theoretically, you could start with a fully rendered video, but keeping them separate allows more control over each effect and allows that effect to be applied to logos, text, etc.
There were many layers added after these, but I love watching the video take shape before my eyes.
This thank you video for the Slow-Food-Truck was actually the birth of their new logo as well. When Dave and Ben saw the logo peeled away and the silhouette left in the brush stroke they immediately asked for isolated images that they could use on their page.
