Public land bear down!

After days of not seeing a single deer on public land, but seeing 4 different black bears, we pivoted our strategy and made a game plan at camp to hunt this bear the night before.

Nothing about hunting, finding, and recovering this bear was straight forward, but after hours of crawling on hands and knees through dense bear habitat in the dark with ZERO blood to follow, I’m so grateful to have recovered this incredible bear in time to pack it out and use every piece to feed my family and friends.

The Ozark woods are an incredible blessing we have to explore and have so much to offer those willing to spend time getting to know them.

Join us for a time-honored tradition, where the cool fall air carries memories of generations past. We’re gathering to celebrate the majestic whitetail deer, the heart and soul of the Ozark woods.

We invite you to come share stories, honor the pursuit, and learn about the whitetail in Arkansas. We want to celebrate the cultural and conservational importance of hunting in the Ozarks. As the population of Northwest Arkansas continues to grow, it is more important than ever to generate awareness of Ozark culture and promote conservation of its natural resources. Our hope is that this event will shine a light on the unique cultural importance of Arkansas whitetail season, as well as connect those who are “hunting curious” with a group of knowledgeable and passionate outdoorsmen and women.

Mark your calendars. Bring your families and friends. Let’s step back into our past, where deer camp stories and farmhouse ale flowed freely.
