Many of our beloved California beaches could disappear by the end of this century. Scientists predict that this year’s El Niño storms, coupled with sea level rise, could erode our beaches more than ever. Surveyors like Dan Hoover, who uses a GPS on his ATV to create a 3D map of Ocean Beach, are providing data that can help us to better understand erosion science and find ways to protect what matters most.
