The hardest thing about healing from a difficult past is learning to let go of the guilt for things you did or didn't do that you regret. Learning self-forgiveness is a monumental task if you haven't had the kind of relationship with Jesus that helps you see the unconditional love that He has for you.

Recovering from the pain of the past isn't about forgetting what happened. It's about letting go of the emotions tied to the events. And learning to differentiate between what was and what is.
