ARTIST OF THE WEEK:

Reigning from Kansas City Missouri, Winslow brings a truly fresh taste to the USDNB scene. Taking heavy influence from a wide range of artists, Winslow in many ways represents the DNB scene as a modern day . Versatile, adaptable, and capable, Winslow's ability to transform his sound from being deep and aggressive all the way to being lush and soulful rivals few to none.

Recently signing to the modern classic of a label , Winslow continues to extend his impact on the label with his previous remixes and releases on the label clearly demonstrating his prowess. Along with the signing announcement, he announced a new EP coming out on Hospital on July 9th, boldly solidifying his position on the label and in the scene. With his "Swing & Miss" Podcast running well featuring guest after guest, the experience stands as one of many pieces of content Winslow pushes out amongst production videos, Q&A's and more. A name to remember and to keep an eye on, Winslow continues to push boundaries and his own craft like no other.

INPUTS & OUTPUTS

Limiter threshold - Brickwalling at its finest

Distortion Style - HOW2SATURATE

Wet K**b - Control your compression

Gain Control - ‘nuff said

ESSENTIALS

Knee - This determines how
smoothly your compressor
begins to compress.

Sharp (higher) knees will
result in wall-like compression.
Be careful if pairing a sharp
knee and a high ratio.

Attack - How quickly your
compressor reacts
to an incoming signal.

(Turn this one down for
classic drum sidechaining).

Release - How quickly your
compressor stops compressing
an incoming signal.

If this k**b is set too low,
saturation can take place in rare
cases, especially if the attack is
similarly low.

Threshold - Amount of DB needed to trigger
compression

Ratio - A multiplier of
the compression

Make Up - Easy, breezy, beautiful;
gain compensation

Model Selection - In many compressors, Multiple
styles of compressors will be
offered, each with their own
unique properties and quirks.
