The first pupil at Mutara Primary School, Laikipia County is yet to join Form one

James Rashid Lekuyayo scored 348 Marks in last year's KCPE

This was his second attempt, way back in 2018 Lekuyayo sat for KCPE exams and scored 247 marks. He could not join high school because his parents divorced and he was left stranded.

As a young man he had to look for ways to survive in Savannah.

He became a herd's boy grazing people's goats and sheep in those prickly acacia & balanites bushes for four years until he surrendered.

Rashid made up his mental facilities and walked to Mutara Primary School and begged the headteacher to give him a chance to study despite his age.

The good hearted school head admitted him with support from a guardian known as "Mama Simon".

It's quite unfortunate that Lekuyayo's dream of becoming a Neurosurgeon will be shattered like that due to lack of school fees.

Did you know Mutara Primary School was constructed by the current Governor during his first term in office?

Which Ward & Constituency is Mutara Primary School located?

Somehow it's quite demoralizing when a leading pupil fails to proceed to the next level in academics.

This is where humanity is highly needed.
