I fear many of us have flown too close to the “boss babe” sun.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
but what if… we didn’t? what if we just lived and became content and just loved our time as much as the money? what then?

hustle culture and the “I worked 90 hours this week” sentiment is not a badge of honor. It’s a badge of “I care about work more than my time.” yes, there are times you should and need to put in more hours for your growing biz, but every week? Everyday?

when I see people work a lot, (busy seasons aside), I don’t think, “wow! they’re a great example of ownership”, I think:

“they don’t know how to manage money for slow season”
“they don’t know how to say no”
“they don’t know how to build and retain a team”

and then I think… damn, they have entrepreneurship all wrong.

again, there are times in business where you do have to hustle (hello, me rn!) but it shouldn’t be that way forever, there should be a content phase- a “I feel good about where I am and I don’t need to push for more at this moment” phase. a breathing phase.

otherwise why else are we doing all this s**t?

i landed in the wedding industry by osmosis. i have created a strategy that allows wedding pros to stop spinning their wheels with social content and aligning their branding.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​but don't be fooled, some of the all star brands that i work with aren't in the wedding industry at all. i have no limiting beliefs or marketing style for ONE specific niche. but there is one thing they all have in common... they're creative and brilliant AF. they just struggle with showcasing that.

swipe for some rules that i don't follow for my own account >>>​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​currently in my "content era" (see: content like satisfied, not a piece of content lmao). I am so content and wildly happy and lazy with this account and I love where i'm at in my business. make your own rules and stop living for the algorithm and how you're perceived online.

i know you think it's vital to follow all of these aesthetic "rules", but at what cost?? is it worth it?

to me, it's not. I don't care about the number of my followers, i've never cared about someone not booking me because i gave them too much "free" advice, and i've given up caring about hashtags.

these don't make my business better - i make my business better!

at the end of the day, my clients are my priority. i don't break rules for them, but i do for me. and maybe that seems hypocritical.. but it truly comes to creative and mental bandwidth. i'd rather spend it on them and be content with my own posting than going full speed on everything all the time. i've tried that and it didn't work for me.

so here's your reminder - do what you want, however the f**k you want. don't forget why you decided to do your own thing in the first place 🩷
