where did 1,000 become the magical number for people to assume you're an expert at something?
we need to shift this follower mentality. you're missing out on so many great service providers because you're hung up on some metric that can easily be cheated. like what lol
and here's the thing -- as a service provider (if you're great at what you do), you should be prioritizing your time in... you guessed it... servicing your clients... not trying to grow your following.
now all that to say, you should consistently be an example of what you provide for others. you're the perfect case study for your brand!
for example:
😌 if you specialize in content creation, you should be consistently creating and sharing great and quality content
😌 if you're a realtor, you should be consistently sharing your client journey, including homes for sale and homes you've sold
😌 if you're an accountant, you should be sharing educational content, testimonials from clients, and showing examples of what working with you is like
😌 if you're a copywriter, you should be providing great copy in graphics and captions that shows your expertise
see where I'm going with this?
you can't rely on the number of people that want to follow you, but you can let your work speak for itself!
and while you don't need 1,000 followers to be qualified to do your job, you do need to be leading by example.

okay let’s bffr—
showing up online starts with the right mindset. sure, you can love the content you share, you can have an amazing brand, you can have an offer that solves problems... but if you don't show up, it'll be a slow growth.
if that's what you're looking for, then that's okay.
but if you want to speed things up, you need to show up. i'm talking seeing your face on stories, doing lives, sending voice memos in the dms to your dream prospect, engaging in the comments, building connections, etc.
if you're stuck on where to start, start with your mindset about IG. here are my three top mindset shifts to love showing up online:
💖 stop engaging with people that don't inspire you or you're genuinely rooting for. hate following people is exhausting... surround your virtual self with people and accounts you care about
💖 think about your impact and not the metric. your message needs to resonate with ONE person ONE time to have a huge impact on your biz. now when that one person shows up?… we don't know. that's why focusing on impacting one person instead of a million will transform your biz.
💖 understand that not every piece of content will resonate with every person. i don't want everyone to love my and feel related to my content. i want a tiny but mighty community. i'm here to build quality connections and grow my audience with people that actually want to be here and aren't looking for something in return.

it’s possible to say “hey y’all” to your new followers without boring your current audience, trust me. your intros should serve a purpose for new and current followers, not just something you cross off a list of post ideas.
here are a few fun and new intro recos and their purpose:
🪩 inspire your audience - share what you wish you knew when you started your entrepreneurial journey your background
🪩 engage your audience - share a hot take and any unpopular opinions (does not need to be industry related) and respond to the comments
🪩 build your community - ask your audience what they think they know about you, or assumptions they have of you! think of this like a myth buster 😉
🪩 sell a product - share a hook from a blog that goes into detail about you and your brand, with linked products/affiliates
🪩 build reputation + expertise - share a testimonial and how that review or experience shifted your journey and your goals moving forward
let’s remove the whole, “hi! I have new followers, it’s time to introduce myself! I like dogs, candy, and sleeping.”
girl… we all enjoy that stuff 😜 it doesn’t tell me about YOU and why you’re different.
