Universal Health Care: No one is left behind

Recognizing the importance of the implementation of Universal Health Care in Bohol, the Department of Health 7 (DOH) recently conducted an orientation of Local Chief Executives, and Municipal Health Officers on Local Health Systems Integration related to Universal Health Care held at the Ceremonial Hall and encouraged their support on the implementation of the program in the province.

The Universal Health Care Law mandates that “Every Filipino shall be granted immediate eligibility and access to preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care for medical, dental, mental, and emergency health services, delivered either as population based or individual based health services.”

Hence, Universal health care is important so that all Filipinos are guaranteed equitable access to quality and affordable health care goods and services, and protected against financial risk. And that it helps ensure that every Filipino is healthy, protected from health hazards and risks, and has access to affordable, quality, and readily available health service that is suitable to their needs.
Regional Director Jaime S. Bernadas explained the intricacies of UHC and stressed that the UHC ensures that everyone will be receiving optimal health services, and that Primary Care Services and Community Health will be strengthened.

He further stated that with UHC, every Filipino family is matched to a primary care team, and ensures that they get the appropriate services they need in the appropriate facility
Governor Aumentado thanked the DOH 7 led by Regional Director Jaime S. Bernadas, and all those in the health sector with the cooperation of all Local Chief Executives for their concerted effort in campaigning for Universal Health Care (R.A. 11223) in the province.

He firmly believes that this will be a big help to Boholanos as they will be given the proper health care services to address their health conditions.

The governor encouraged all Boholanos to live healthier lives and stressed the statement “no one is left behind” which highlights the availability of proper health care for every Boholano coupled with healthy living will enable them not only to contribute to the development of the province but to a better quality of life.(MAEP)

Communist Terrorist Groups in Bohol Dismantled

Law enforcement authorities in Bohol are one in saying that the peace and order is normal and under control. This was disclosed during the recent Capitol Reports held at the Ceremonial Hall, New Capitol building.

Executive Officer Major Jason Torino of the 47th IB who tackled the issue of insurgency in Bohol stated that as far as Peace and Security is concerned, Bohol is almost insurgency-free since the number of personalities of the communist terrorist group (CTG) has lessened. Torino said, based on the PCR, or periodic report status there used to be nineteen personalities (19), but now there are only ten (10) left. He stressed that it is their assessment that these CTGs cannot anymore conduct any atrocities or offensive operations against government troops.

He shared that just recently they conducted operations and recovered the temporary harbour site which is believed to have been used by seven (7) personalities just two weeks ago.
Philippine National Police Provincial Director Col. Osmundo Salibo reinforced the statement of Major Torino that the situation in Bohol, based on the latest joint letter directive signed by the Chief PNP and the AFP Chief of Staff, the CTGs in Bohol have been dismantled and they are no longer a big threat to the peace and order in Bohol.

He also said there is no single barangay in the province of Bohol where the services of the government have been hampered because of insurgency. He reiterated that the CTGs have been dismantled, and although they are still there, there are only ten (10) personalities with ten (10) fi****ms left, which is why Bohol isn’t totally declared insurgency-free.

Fmr. Usec and Executive Assistant Arturo Evangelista reassured the Boholanos that as far as peace and order, and the security and safety situation of the province, insurgency can be called dormant, as they have not seen any unusual activity.

On the aspect of support of the government of Bohol to law enforcement, he informed the media that last month, he and the PNP provincial director were summoned by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to brief them on the peace and order situation in the province. He shared that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan asked how they can help law enforcement in this endeavor.

EA Evangelista stressed that the peace and order situation in Bohol is stable and that the situation is under control. (MAEP)
