I often get asked how I keep my wardrobe fresh and “renewed” in an eco/mindful. My go-to way is the seasonal (as in actual weather seasons not fashion trends seasons 😜) one in, one out rule. Seasonally and if needed, try going through your closet to see if there are pieces you are not wearing as much anymore and sell them before adding something “new” to your closet. Using reselling or swapping apps is great for this! The good thing here is that your closet never overflows and you keep the core clothes that you always wear.
This summer I felt I needed a few staple pieces refreshed so I resold/swapped a few pieces and this stunning dress was one of my “one in”!

Wednesday’s musings 💭 ✨
Inspired by the Broken Planet exhibit at the where this question was posed on a big screen (swipe to see👉🏾).
It made me pause and think so thought I would share it here because I’m still pondering it 🤪

Growth is defined as
the process of increasing in size. To thrive is defined as to develop, prosper and to flourish.

In the current public discourse, the two are often intertwined and seen as interchangeable but clearly their definitions show two different paths.

While growth looks at increase in size, thriving leans into quality of life, of being. Can growth lead to thriving? Absolutely! And can thriving lead to growth? Absolutely.
Still, I wonder when growth stops so true thriving can begin?

In the current capitalistic paradigm we are told the only way to thrive is to keep growing in size, that the bigger the numbers the more we thrive, that constant expansion is the way to prosperity - but we’ve all come to experience the reality that running after infinite growth actually shrinks us, we become full bellied yet hungry all at the same time.

I want to thrive, to flourish and prosper like nature does, to arrive to an understanding of my innate “enoughness” like the flowers do, even in a system that constantly tells me the opposite.

Season 2 for S&S Podcast is here and this one has been swimming around in my head for a while. I very often ponder the fact that the fashion industry is almost entirely powered by women - from office spaces to designers to garment workers, across the supply chain to influencers and consumers - women POWER the fashion industry. At varying degrees they are the reason the industry thrives today yet the decision makers and those who run the industry are men - from fast-fashion CEOs to male world famous designers to factory owners - men often run the show often to the detriment of women.

It’s worth asking: when will women truly take the reins of an industry they are entitled to lead because it does not thrive without US. How can women bring the real change it needs?

This episode is definitely a cheers to Anne Klein’s words:
