十余载歌声不辍,“水立方杯”缘何声动侨心?
8月8日晚,国家游泳中心“水立方”星光璀璨、歌声嘹亮。2023年“文化中国·水立方杯”中文歌曲大赛颁奖晚会在国家游泳中心“水立方”隆重举行。
自此,历时三个多月的2023年“文化中国·水立方杯”中文歌曲大赛圆满落幕。此次大赛在全球33个国家59个赛区开展,共有5500余名选手参赛,在海内外掀起了唱中文歌的热潮。
颁奖晚会在主题曲《欢聚水立方》中拉开帷幕,歌曲、舞蹈、戏曲表演等精彩纷呈,晚会上节目表演和揭晓奖项穿插进行,大赛优胜选手与多位中国知名歌手同台献艺,演绎了多首大家耳熟能详的经典中文歌曲。
单项奖选手合唱歌曲《在他乡》,深情的演唱饱含海外游子对家乡的思念和眷恋;铜奖选手演唱《悟空》,戏腔与流行音乐融合的独特唱腔呈现出不服输的英雄气概;银奖选手带来一首《一生有你》,轻快的旋律充满温暖治愈的力量;舞蹈《锦绣》让博物馆中的汉代舞俑“活起来”,带领观众穿越时空领略传奇国宝的魅力;金奖选手带来歌曲《木兰诗》,铿锵的节奏、热血的演唱将全场氛围推向高潮。最后,所有获奖选手与现场歌手共同演唱了《万疆》,给整场晚会画上了圆满的句号。
本届“文化中国·水立方杯”中文歌曲大赛开设海外青少组、海外成人组、外籍友人组、港澳青少组、北京赛区五个组别,最终各组别共有13名选手获得金奖、26名选手获得银奖、39名选手获得铜奖。“最具潜力奖”、“最高人气奖”、“最佳创意奖”等单项奖也在晚会上揭晓。
“文化中国·水立方杯”中文歌曲大赛自2011年以来,已连续举办13届,赛事规模由最初的15个海外分赛区扩展至如今的59个,累计吸引近4万名选手参赛,成为海内外侨界及港澳同胞广泛参与的音乐文化盛会。
2011年,在国家游泳中心“水立方”的舞台上,美国华裔歌手黄一凭借原创歌曲《我是ABC》,获得首届“水立方杯”海外华裔青少年中文歌曲大赛金奖。
多年来,“水立方杯”已经深入侨心,为追逐音乐梦想的华侨华人提供了展示风采的平台,也为海外游子提供了诉说心声、抒发乡情的机会。演唱中文歌曲这种比赛形式深受海外华裔青少年喜爱,也激发了他们学习和了解中华文化的热情。
承办印尼赛区比赛的印尼雅加达华文教育协调机构执行主席蔡昌杰回忆道:“2011年首届‘水立方杯’印尼选拔赛举行,1000人的观众席只坐了不到100人,如今印尼全国十余个省、市都会遴选优秀选手参赛,比赛现场座无虚席。‘水立方杯’走出来的印尼选手们,从不知道中文名字,到会用简单的中文交流,有的已经能讲流利的中文。”
“‘水立方杯’将侨胞心与中华情紧紧相连。”89岁的加拿大华侨邝究声已多次参加大赛,他表示,虽然自己离开故乡已经很多年了,但山海虽远隔不断血脉深情,希望用歌声表达对故土深深的眷恋,也要告诉年轻一代,无论走多远,不要忘了自己的根在何处。
美国西雅图赛区的选手肖晴在今年的“水立方杯”总决赛上演唱了一首《莫尼山》,高亢空灵的嗓音搭配悠扬婉转的旋律,触动了评委和观众,获得海外赛区青少年组的第一名。她说:“我很喜欢唱歌,尤其喜欢唱中文歌,参加‘水立方杯’大赛让我坚定了要继续学习音乐的想法,我希望未来能创作出好听的中文歌曲,为中文歌曲的海外推广出一份力。”
2008年北京奥运会筹备期间,来自105个国家和地区的逾35万名华侨华人、港澳台同胞捐款9.4亿多元人民币,建成国家游泳中心“水立方”。
为了延续海外侨胞的桑梓深情,推动中华文化海外传播,助力中外民间友好交往,“文化中国·水立方杯”中文歌曲大赛应运而生,成为海内外中华儿女“以歌传情、以歌会友、以侨为桥”的舞台。
多年来,累计有超过1500家侨团、华文媒体、华文学校以及中资机构以不同方式支持参与大赛,培育了很多跨文化传播的民间交流使者,成为海外侨界传播中华文化的重要力量。大赛中也涌现出黄一、李佩玲、马伯骞、李紫婷等一批华裔新生代音乐人。
自2015年起,大赛增加了文化体验与互动环节,组织华裔青少年选手到长城、故宫等地参观游览,开展声乐培训等课程。通过几天的研学之旅,华裔青少年们感受到古都北京的魅力,触摸到现代北京的发展脉搏,加深了对中华文化的认知。
从2021年开始,“水立方杯”已经由最初只面向海外华裔青少年,扩展至面向外籍友人开放,致力于用音乐架起跨越国界、联通中外的友谊之桥。不同国家、不同年龄的选手,在歌声中跨越了文化差异和语言障碍,拉近了心灵的距离,也在歌声中领略中华文化的魅力。
今年共有31个海外赛区开设外籍友人组别,10位外籍友人组选手在总决赛上带来脍炙人口的中文歌曲。参赛选手们纷纷表示,参加“水立方杯”让他们对中华文化更感兴趣,今后要学唱更多中文歌曲,让更多人听到中文歌。
再欢聚,更美好!“文化中国·水立方杯”中文歌曲大赛将继续以歌传情,展现海内外中华儿女乐观、积极、自信的精神面貌;以赛为媒,营造友好、开放、包容的文化交流氛围;以“侨”为桥,助力中外民心相通,用音乐开创美好未来。

This year's "Culture China - Water Cube Cup" Chinese Song Contest was organized in five categories: Overseas Youth Group, Overseas Adult Group, Foreign Friends Group, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Group, and Beijing Competition, and a total of 13 contestants won the Gold Award, 26 contestants won the Silver Award, and 39 contestants won the Bronze Award in each category. Individual awards such as "Most Potential Award", "Highest Popularity Award" and "Best Creativity Award" were also unveiled at the gala.
The "Culture China - Water Cube Cup" Chinese Song Contest has been held for 13 consecutive years since 2011, with the scale of the contest expanding from 15 overseas divisions to 59 divisions today, and attracting nearly 40,000 contestants, making it a music and cultural event widely participated by overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots at home and abroad.
In 2011, on the stage of "Water Cube" of National Aquatics Center, American Chinese singer Huang Yi won the gold medal of the first "Water Cube Cup" Overseas Chinese Youth Chinese Song Contest with his original song "I am ABC".
Over the years, the "Water Cube Cup" has penetrated into the hearts of overseas Chinese, providing a platform for overseas Chinese pursuing their musical dreams to show their styles, as well as an opportunity for overseas travelers to speak their minds and express their feelings for their hometowns. Singing Chinese songs is a form of competition favored by overseas Chinese youths and inspires them to learn and understand Chinese culture.
Cai Changjie, Executive Chairman of the Jakarta Chinese Language Education Coordination Organization, which hosted the Indonesian competition, recalled: "In 2011, when the first 'Water Cube Cup' Indonesian audition was held, less than 100 people sat in the 1,000-person auditorium, but nowadays more than 10 provinces and municipalities across Indonesia select outstanding contestants to participate in the competition, and the venue was packed. Today, more than ten provinces and cities throughout Indonesia select outstanding players to participate in the competition, and the competition site is packed. The Indonesian players who came out from the 'Water Cube Cup' never know their Chinese names, but can communicate in simple Chinese, and some of them are already fluent in Chinese."
"'Water Cube Cup' connects the hearts of the overseas Chinese with Chinese love." 89-year-old Canadian overseas Chinese Kwong Ching-sing has participated in the competition many times, he said that although he left his hometown has been many years, but the mountains and the sea is far away from the bloodline of the deep love, I hope to use the song to express the deep attachment to the homeland, but also to tell the younger generation, no matter how far to go, don't forget where their roots are.
Xiao Qing, a contestant from Seattle, USA, sang a song called "Moni Mountain" at this year's "Water Cube Cup" finals, and her soaring, ethereal voice and melodious melody touched both the judges and the audience, and she was awarded the first place in the youth category of the overseas competition. She said, "I like singing very much, especially Chinese songs. Participating in the 'Water Cube Cup' competition has made me firmly believe that I want to continue to study music, and I hope that I can compose good Chinese songs in the future and contribute to the promotion of Chinese songs overseas."
During the preparation for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, more than 350,000 overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots from 105 countries and regions donated more than RMB 940 million to build the National Aquatics Center "Water Cube".
In order to continue the deep affection of overseas Chinese compatriots, promote the spread of Chinese culture overseas, and facilitate friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreigners, the "Culture China - Water Cube Cup" Chinese Song Contest came into being, and has become a stage for Chinese children at home and abroad to "express their love through songs, meet friends through songs, and use overseas Chinese as a bridge". Over the years, more than 1,500 overseas Chinese groups, Chinese media, Chinese schools and Chinese-funded organizations have supported the competition in different ways, nurturing a lot of cross-cultural communication messengers, and becoming an important force for the dissemination of Chinese culture in the overseas Chinese community. The competition has also produced a number of new-generation Chinese musicians such as Huang Yi, Li Peiling, Ma Boqian and Li Ziting.
Since 2015, the competition has added cultural experience and interaction, organizing visits to the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and other places for Chinese youth contestants, and conducting vocal training and other courses. Through a few days of study tour, the Chinese youths felt the charm of the ancient capital Beijing, touched the pulse of the development of modern Beijing, and deepened their knowledge of Chinese culture.
Starting from 2021, the "Water Cube Cup" has been expanded from being open only to overseas Chinese youth to being open to foreign friends, and is committed to building a bridge of friendship across borders and connecting China and the world through music. Contestants from different countries and of different ages have crossed cultural differences and language barriers in their songs, bringing their hearts closer to each other and enjoying the charm of Chinese culture in their songs.
This year, there were 31 overseas regions to open the foreign friends category, 10 foreign friends group contestants in the finals to bring popular Chinese songs. The contestants said that participating in the Water Cube Cup had made them more interested in Chinese culture, and that they would learn to sing more Chinese songs in the future so that more people could hear them.
Reunion, better! The "Culture China - Water Cube Cup" Chinese Song Contest will continue to convey feelings through songs, showing the optimistic, positive and confident spirit of Chinese children at home and abroad; to use the contest as a medium to create a friendly, open and tolerant atmosphere of cultural exchanges; and to use "Overseas Chinese" as a bridge to help China and foreign countries to communicate with each other.
