🔥 Tiger Woods vs. Colin Montgomerie 🔥
Matt didn't hold back: "It felt like Kendrick Lamar versus Drake with Kendrick dropping 'Not Like Us.' He absolutely destroyed Colin Montgomerie. I mean, he smoked a two iron stinger right in his face. That's what he did there."
This all kicked off after Montgomerie’s comments about Tiger Woods: "He did not seem to enjoy a single shot at Pinehurst. You think, 'What the hell is he doing?’"
Tiger clapped back hard: "As a past champion, I’m exempt until I’m 60. Colin’s not. He doesn’t get the opportunity to make that decision. I do."

Ryder Cup Selection Drama: LIV Golfers Included?
In our latest episode of Pull Hook Golf podcast, Matt and Buttsy delve into the latest Ryder Cup buzz.
Matt kicks off the discussion, sharing a significant announcement: "And he comes out and says, 'I am picking the best golfers that are American whether they're on LIV Golf or whether they're on the PGA Tour.'"
Buttsy, initially surprised, responds, "Did he say that? Came out and—"
Matt confirms, "He said that today."
With excitement, Buttsy adds, "I love that. I think that's the right way because that takes the politics out of all the bullsh*t that's going on. The Ryder Cup is not supposed to be based on anything other than that."
Matt shifts gears, noting, "Bradley, he's going to be 39 at the time next year's Ryder Cup comes around. He will be the youngest Ryder Cup captain since 34-year-old Arnold Palmer who also, by the way, was a playing captain at 34."

Youth Movement in Golf: Changing of the Guard?
In our latest episode of Pull Hook Golf podcast, Matt and Buttsy dive into a hot topic: Are we witnessing a new youth movement in golf?
Matt kicked things off, pondering if the influx of young talent signifies a broader trend. Buttsy responded with an interesting perspective, suggesting that what we're seeing is the top-tier Korn Ferry Tour talent making their mark on the PGA Tour. "You're seeing the all-stars of the Korn Ferry Tour, and that's now the PGA Tour," he said.
Matt expanded on this, emphasizing the importance of experience and comfort in playing one's best golf. "When you come out on the PGA Tour in your very first year, there is an uncomfortable sense of a new level that you've just achieved that you need to figure out," he explained. Despite the occasional standout rookie, Matt believes we're witnessing a generational shift. "I think we are seeing the changing of the guard... These young guys are going to be like, 'Oh, that's the JT, that's the Jordan Spieth.'"
Buttsy agreed, noting that while we’re starting to see younger players in their early twenties making waves, there's an element of not having LIV Golfers playing too. "You lost those guys right in the middle of their heyday where those guys weren't that old still," he reflected.

Davis Thompson Can Dunk... Who Cares?
Our latest episode of Pull Hook Golf podcast had us questioning the relevance of multi-sport athleticism in the world of golf. Buttsy, in his usual candid style, sparked a debate by asking, 'Who gives a flying sh*t about that?'
Matt Cook joined in, expressing his disregard for the fact that Davis Thompson, a promising golfer, can dunk a basketball. 'Let's keep it in our lane of golf,' he said, emphasizing the need to focus on skills that directly translate to the game.
Buttsy, however, couldn't resist bringing up an upcoming basketball prodigy, a 'dinosaur' who's been growing non-stop. 'He was 76 last year. He is 79 this year, and he's not stopping growing.'
This brought up an interesting question - Does being athletically gifted in other sports have any bearing on the golf course? Or should we be focusing solely on golf-specific skills and performance?

Is Cameron Young's mental game holding him back?
We've just wrapped up another episode of Pull Hook Golf, and this time, we're diving deep into the psyche of rising star Cam Young. It's clear to us that while Young's got the physical game down, his mental game could be his downfall. Yet, as we all know, golf is as much a mental sport as it is a physical one.
In the latest episode, we dissect Young's recent rough week, where he cracked his driver mid-round. The incident wasn't the issue for us; it was his reaction and demeanor afterwards that raised red flags. His body language, his attitude - it all seemed off. And that's not how a golfer with his potential should react to adversity.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone who wants to understand the complexities of the mental game in golf. We're not just talking about Cam Young here, we're discussing the mental fortitude all golfers need to succeed. So, if you're a golfer, a caddie, a tour player, or just a fan of the sport, tune in to get an uncensored look into the world of professional golf.
