One of my favorite skirts and matching scrunchies I’ve made! I love being a fashion creator, stylist and designer. I get to share all part of fashion and style I love. I’m different than most designers because most designers prefer to stay behind the scenes. I actually love behind behind the scenes and I’m front of the camera. I’m not an official model but I love wearing the clothes I make and style. I love what I do. Over the years I’ve changed and my brand has grown. I think what makes styling so fun is there are endless possibilities of how you can dress yourself. There isn’t one right way. You put on what makes you feel happy and comfortable. I styled my mom years ago and this outfit stills look good on her.

Soooooooo!!! I’ve been working and Im so excited because this spring I’m going to be a designer and vendor for Sustainable Fashion Week right here in Washington DC. So if you don’t know in 2022 I did my first ever fashion collection and for DC fashion week.

I did a whimsical repurposed collection. Which means I designed some pieces from scratch and some pieces were up-cycled. This is definitely one of my favorite collections I’ve designed.

So part of the reason I went back to school was to include more visual art in my fashion. Somethings I’ve been obsessed with recently is wearable art and I absolutely love it.

So I think my next collection is going to inspired my everyday items but turn them into wearable art. Some inspiration is below.

Let’s talk about personal style!

“Personal style” refers to the unique way a person chooses to dress and present themselves through clothing, accessories, and overall aesthetic, reflecting their individual personality and sense of self, going beyond just following trends and conforming to societal expectations; it’s essentially how you “wear” what you wear, expressing who you are through your clothing choices.

Some people simply put on clothes because they need to go out into the world, viewing it as a necessity rather than a choice.

Then there are people who get dressed because it’s their passion and they express themselves through their sense of personal style. It’s more than just clothes to them it’s an art form.

So I want to share some thing I’ve been working on with a new client of mine. If you don’t know I offer style services and I give my clients a personalized style guide. In the personalized style guide I include a color palette, base layers, jewelry , statement pieces & layering pieces inspiration. The style guide is created based on a style quiz I created. My client answers the questions and I give them details on how to achieve their goals.

Within the next couple of months I will be releasing my first Eccentric Style TV Episode going through this entire process. I’m still in the middle of this project but wanted to share my progress with my face book family.

Small Preview of what’s included in the style guide

Timeless style refers to a type of dressing that reflects time. These are outfits with classic silhouettes, core colors, and impeccable fit. You can get at several outfits out of. For example, a colorful pattern dress has limited use versus a black sweater.

Avoid fast fashion
Avoid trends
Invest in a Classic handbag
Pay attention to details
Recognize what works for your body
Understand clothing fit
Invest in quality
Embrace tailoring

Key strategies:

Develop a “style uniform”:
Create a base of versatile, quality pieces like well-fitting jeans, a tailored blazer, neutral tees, and a classic dress that can be easily mixed and matched.

Incorporate statement pieces:
Add a pop of color, texture, or unique design with a bold necklace, patterned scarf, or statement earrings to elevate a simple outfit

My new collection releasing on 03.15.25 is inspired my color! I’m designing and upcyling some fun clothes and accessories. I’ll also be updating my boutique with some colorful fun second hand clothing.

Here is my first mock-up of some Totebags I’ll be making. Everything I’m designing will be one of one. Which means you’ll be the only person with that design if you buy one.

My next step in the design process is to create patterns for these tote bags. Determine the measurements and source fabric.

Personal Style Tips from yours truly!

1. Play with color. Start with using the color wheel. Color is the easiest way to play with your style. Try new color combinations. Color has relationships and there are certain colors that work really well.

Some color combinations suggestions
* primary colors
*monochromatic colors
*analogous colors
* complementary colors

2. Add texture to your outfit. This is a fun one. If you want to add a visual appeal to your outfit start by adding ruffles, different fabrics, and adding accessories.

3. Have fun with the shape of your clothing. Try wearing oversized clothing. Or try wearing clothes that have interesting shapes. You can create balance by wearing a fitted top but oversized pants. Play with the shape of your clothing.

4. Find inspiration on pinterest, social media, friends, nature, books etc. Inspiration is comes from everyone. Remember just because you’ve never worn something before doesn’t mean it’s not going to look good on you. Build your confidence by wearing something you wouldn’t wear at least once a week.

5. Layer your clothes. This is another easy way to improve or find your personal style. Layering adds dimension to your outfit. Layering adds character to your look. Layering can create new looks with clothes you already have.
