I finished the first draft of my book the other day and now I let it bake. The project I’m working on as I distract myself is a series of digital paintings of my friends I call memories.

I'm officially back!

A lot has happened since we last saw each other. I had my heartbroken and my health isn't the best right now but I am writing a book.

An epic, fantasy adventure of self-discovery. Join me as I share some of the quotes from the book and the art inspired by it.

I already have 12 out of 15 chapters complete for the first draft and I am hoping by the end of the weekend I will have all 15 and be able to start really editing.

The expected time for you to be able to grab a copy is about 8-12 months from now. Maybe sooner if my hyperfixation really kicks.

The next few days will be iffy for me as I work on a few things and I also had to go to urgent care yesterday because the pain in my hips has become unbearable BUT do not worry about me! This is all procedural and me and my doctor even discussed this over 5 years ago, my pain is expected unfortunately.

ANYWAY

I grew up hearing many people lay claim to being related to Ned Christie. I’m coming forward now to tell the world that they are wrong about his story.

Ned is my Great (x3) Uncle. His brother GoBack, is my Great (x4) Grandfather. Dozens if not hundreds of people have written books, articles and many other medias that vilify Ned as being a drunken, murderous outlaw. He was far from it.

He was a blacksmith and gunsmith, a proud Keetoowah member, Cherokee Senator and championed rights for ALL Indigenous citizens. He was accused of killing a US Marshall, Dan Maples, in 1887. Protesting his innocence to the court, after the Ft Smith court was told by several known criminals that Ned was in the area at the time, he refused to travel to Ft Smith. The judge took his refusal as an admission of guilt and for the next 5 years the United States Government HUNTED my family member.

Ok you ready? He is my Great-Great-Great Uncle, Ned Christie. He’s brother, GoBack Christie is my Great-Great-Great-Great Grandpa. I’ve been making a lot of art about him lately and I’d like to share them with you. More importantly I want to share to you his story, even if you heard it before, because it warrants repeating especially in today’s climate.

Make sure to like and follow cause you may not learn this in the history classes.

I’m baaaack! And this time I bear merch! Many of you know I lost my good paying job at the beginning of the pandemic and a very small percentage of you know I have Avascular Necrosis.

Quick rundown on what AVN is. It is a degenerative bone disease that rots the bone from the inside out. It’s due to bones not getting enough blood. The disease is most commonly found in the hips and is incurable; which is where I have mine. I have had procedures done to prolong total hip replacement but it looks like I will need that sooner rather than later.

This has caused several financial problems for myself as I haven’t been able to find a job that doesn’t require 50lbs lifting limit. So that’s why I am coming to y’all with my art!

The early 2000’s.
Near Barren Fork Creek by Eldon Hill in Cherokee County, Oklahoma.

My dad creates traditional Cherokee Bo**er Masks and when I was little we would wear them and pose for pictures like this. This photo depicts the Cherokee legend of Spearfinger (right, me) killing Stone Coat (left, my older brother).

This was and still very much how my family is. The good thing is that I will be making a personal return to these legends and bringing them to life in my own artistic way!
