Review of the Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser.
I've been using the Velvetiser from since Christmas 2018 and I'm impressed. Using real chocolate flakes the machine creates the perfect hot chocolate everytime. The Velvetiser is also great for making textured milk for coffee and I use it to warm the milk for my son's breakfast cereal, although I must add if you are going to do this take the whisk out as no one wants frothy milk on their weetabix. There are some cons, albeit not many. Despite careful cleaning, after using the Velvetiser for a year the non-stick coating has started to come away from the bottom; this means the milk sticks on the bottom after use but it still cleans easily so it's not much of a problem. The whisk can also be tricky to clean beneath the retaining pin and takes a bit of time to complete. The chocolate from Hotel chocolat can also be a little on the expensive side, however you can take 36g of chocolate of your choice, a grater, a few grazed knuckles and create your very own chocolate flakes. All in all, the Velvetiser is a great gadget especially in the colder months when you want to settle in with the heating on and a hot chocolate to warm your soul.
