Congrats to the winners of our sweatshirt giveaway, and thanks to everyone who entered!

Sorry if you missed out, but fear not, for we have some ambitious plans…

This was just a little taste of what we have in mind, as we want to expand this into something that’s more than just merch.

We want to create clothing designed specifically for filmmakers, featuring custom designs by artists from the film & TV industry.

A range of apparel to celebrate what we all do, made for the crew, by the crew.

I caught up with our old mate and former podcast guest at his film quiz in cinema last weekend.

With the Season 3 finale out today, we thought it high time to give some credit to the unofficial and unseen third member of the team, Kaush Bharti.

Kaush is a very busy and important Graphic Art Director, but helps out behind-the-scenes of the podcast to put us in touch with his many film industry contacts. We wouldn’t have got half of the great guests we’ve had on without his help.

Kaush came on as a guest himself way back in Season 1 to chat about his own work in film & TV, so give it a listen if you haven’t heard it already.

The double-whammy of Covid and the actors’ strikes in recent years has had a significant impact on the crew in the film & TV industry, so this week we’re putting the focus on mental health to find out what is being done about it.

Matt Longley () from joins us to talk about his job as a Wellbeing Facilitator - a relatively new role that’s being introduced on more and more film sets.

Matt explains what he is doing to help, and highlights various ways that crew members can get advice if they’re struggling in these tough times.

If you’ve listened to this week’s episode you may remember me mentioning my fun fact about ’s very own Emma D’Arcy, in that I went to university with them (and almost got cast in a play with them, but wasn’t very good at acting, which really put a spanner in the works).

They produced some bits with Rough Hewn theatre which I made some posters for, and to say thank you they sent me this beautiful vintage French postcard, which I obviously squirrelled away as I do all lovely things, to read when deadlines are a bit tough or I’ve been asked to make things ‘pop’ again.

This was in the very very early days of my graphic design career and it was probably undeserved, but it’s been a total joy to watch someone who’d be lovely enough at 18 to write a thank you note do so amazingly well - I’m not surprised!

Hi, it’s Steve.

Detective to Graphic Designer / Police Advisor / Podcaster might not seem like the most obvious career change, but hear me out.

After 13-years as a police officer I re-trained in graphic design, and when I got back to the UK I discovered that graphic design for filmmaking was a thing (who knew!?)

After a visit to ’ workshop, I now specialise in making authentic police graphics and advising on police props, procedures and wardrobe for films and TV shows, including ‘Responsible Child’ (2019) and ‘The Midwich Cuckoos’ (2021).

I’m based in Brighton (Hove, actually) and when I’m not in hipster coffee shops or roaming around in my van with my partner and our dog, I’m training (slowly) for a half-marathon later this year… wish me luck.

So, there you go. Makes perfect sense, right? 👍

Hello, I’m Laura!

My path to Graphic Design for film (and nowadays, mostly the real world, but it’s good to keep your hat in) took the less-trodden path of an Archaeology and Anthropology degree at Oxford, where I spent most of my time making posters for theatre shows, working behind the student bar, and ignoring the red scribbles all over my essays.

I’ve worked on a smattering of fab shows for film & TV, getting my start on a Netflix Christmas film up in Edinburgh, sailing over to Belfast for Dungeons & Dragons, and then heading down south for Marvel’s Secret Invasion and (most excitingly) Paddington 3.

Originally from Leicester, nowadays I’m mostly found milling about Bangor, a coastal town in Northern Ireland, where I’ve got a very purple office in a print workshop, a dog who likes to chase leaves, and a fiancé who insists I take him out dancing AT LEAST once a week.

We’re changing our name!

We’ve listened to feedback, and decided that from next season the podcast will be called ‘Closing Credits,’ as this seems to make more sense to some people.

It means we lose our awesome logo, and will have this one instead which looks like it was rushed together in a morning for the sake of a joke, but if that one guy on TikTok is happy then we reckon it’s worth it.
