There is no question on who the boss of the van. Bunny makes her dominance known at all times, inside and outside of the van. She is the queen of sass, the big black and white, the bun ziggler - What a cat! We love her ❤️

My little guy is making strides

Last time I updated you guys on his situation he was getting used to being outside the van in a kennel.

Now he is out of the van fully, thriving, and chasing lizards! He still gets a little scared once in a while but I'm hoping with time I'll be able to take him on hikes!

The wildlife in florida is awesome.

Growing up in the Midwest all we really got to see was squirrels, street dogs, and street cats, along with the occasional friendly cockroach 😆

The wildlife over here is on a different level.

Today is a big day for little guy little Tai!

He is seemingly getting comfortable being outside the van. Even amongst all of the other folks, vans, rvs, and people nearby.

It took a little bit of tough love though. I purchased an "escape proof" cat harness that magically keeps him leashed even when he attempts to turn into water.

So I leashed him up and sat with him outside. He tried to escape but as soon as he figured out he couldn't he calmly too shelter in his kennel.

This is the latest big step towards him becoming a vanlife adventure cat!

What should be my next step to getting him more comfortable being out and about?

One of our favorite things to do is explore new cities.

This year we are lucky, for the first time, to be able to skip winter. We've been enjoying Miami's melting pot of culture.

From the architecture, to the restaurants, we've been enjoying it all.

Honestly I think this is a place we wouldn't mind living at.

What's your favorite part about exploring new cities?

Miami Beach vs Venice Beach...

Miami Beach stands out for its cleanliness and safety, hands down. While we were there we literally saw over 100 police officers patrolling the area. It felt very safe being there.

Just like Venice Beach, Miami Beach offers free weight workout areas where you can watch hulk like men and women lift weights, or lift weights yourself. The main difference between the two beaches is the cleanliness and safety. Miami Beach offers a refreshing contrast to the crowded and litter-filled beaches of places like Venice Beach.

Overall we highly recommend Miami Beach over Venice. While we were in venice we felt like we didn't belong, in contrast, Miami was very welcoming.

Stay connected with us as we travel around the states in our van with our 3 cats! We will be documenting all the cool places we visit.

Some more pictures of our trip to Galveston.

Galveston has been pretty cool. When I used to think of Texas I tell you I never thought of beaches.

The beaches may not be California beaches but over here you get a privacy and intimacy that you don't get in Cali or Florida.

The entire strip of Galveston is really cute too. Lots of little shops, amusement parks, and things to do

Bucketlist item knocked out!

I've always wanted to sleep on the beach and this was the perfect spot for that! It's off season on bolivar peninsula and the temperatures are 60-70 during the day.

There are hardly any other campers in sight too. Can't wait to explore more beaches.

First 2 weeks if vanlife are going well

Our first trial at vanlife has taken place at an RV park. I know... it's not off the grid.

It's OK though, we aren't ready for off the grid quite yet, and this is a perfect way to get out feet wet.

This RV park is amazing and not so expensive. It's super clean, lots of amenities! It even has a large hot tub!

Camping in Houston has been interesting to say the least. Our first 4 nights here we heard gun shots in the wee hours of the morning 😵

It brought me back to my child hood, growing up in the rough south side of Chicago.

We will be leaving soon to spend time with family for Christmas, then we have a campground waiting for us in Florida 🫠

Mobile command center 🖥

No matter the location, you can't be a software developer without multiple screens 😆

Even in this 80sqft home on wheels I have this 27" monitor that packs up nicely when I'm not using it.

I wish I could have 2 of them but that would be overkill for vanlife.

Maybe once the apple vision headset comes out that will allow multiple virtual screens. It's kind of expensive though!

Before & after lightroom edits

I've been practicing my edits with light room course. I find I really like images that are more flat/cinema like. Here is a before and after, or rather an after & then the before shot in that order.

I feel like I see lots of hate on social media when you see an image that's edited but people seem to fail to understand that creativity is art. Editing is art.

For me, I treat both the photography and editing as art because I like to explore new ideas in my composition. I feel like my photos are the base and the editing is the honing of that into something polished.

Do you hate overprocessed images? Even so, how do you define over processed?

Our first trip to Martha's Vinyard couldn't have been better. So much to see, so many cute shops, and great food! We stayed in Martha's Vinyard Family Campground (which is the only campground on the island) and enjoyed live music, home made orange creme floats, and nearby neighbor baby making noises in the middle of the night 😑. We visited the famous Ginger Bread Houses of Camp Meeting Association, the famous Bridge from Jaws the movie and so much more! Part of vanlife is learning what works and what doesn't. Unfortunately this one cost me 5 grand. I'm going to be trying to insulate the van even more to see if it helps the AC unit cool down the van.
