Move over, it’s the law!
Reminder: It’s the law to move over for emergency vehicles on roadways.
MSP was in Royal Oak investigating a multi-car crash resulting in the left two lanes of I-75 being closed. A semi-truck failed to move over and plowed through the crash scene. Multiple troopers had to jump the median wall to avoid being struck.
The semi driver was arrested for reckless driving and move over law violations.
Wholesome interaction in Taylor, MI
Wholesome - Taylor, MI - Zachery Dereniowski, known as MDMotivator on TikTok, does social experiments where he asks strangers for a couple dollars. When a stranger offers up some money, he surprises them with gifts for their kindness. Recently, Zachary went on a private mission in Taylor to do the experiment on 13-year-old Skylar Donet after learning about her story and participation in adaptive sports since age 5. During the experiment, Skylar offered $2 and even bought Zachary a cup of hot chocolate. In return, Zachary surprised the sled hockey player with $1000 and tickets to the Winter Classic along with the experience of meeting Wayne Gretzky and other hockey figures. Zachary’s message after this interaction is to find it within yourself to do the small acts of kindness, because the most power comes from the small acts.
MCSO Dispatcher helped deliver baby via 911 call
Macomb County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher helps deliver baby!
At approximately 5:42 a.m. on December 29, The MCSO dispatch center received a call from a male whose wife was in active labor. The wife’s water had broken, and her contractions were one minute apart.
Dispatcher Cidnee Schramm calmly helped the caller successfully deliver the baby and stimulate the babies breathing post birth. Dispatcher Schramm stayed on the phone with the caller until Clinton Township Firefighters arrived to continue care.
MCSO is happy to report that the mom and baby are doing well!
“We are incredibly proud of the composed and professional manner in which Dispatcher Schramm handled this call," stated Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham

Critical Incident - Two officers stabbed during apprehension
On December 11, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers of the Bay City Department of Public Safety responded to the 1100 block of N Jackson Street on the East side of Bay City, regarding a subject wanted for violating the conditions of his bond. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Eshawn Langston, who is a felon and has a history of confrontations with law enforcement, including assaults on police officers.
Officers located Langston seated in a vehicle with his 1-year-old child and advised him that he was under arrest for violating his bond conditions, but he declined to exit the vehicle. After repeated requests for compliance, officers took action to gain entry into the vehicle. Langston attempted to flee in the vehicle but struck a patrol car, bringing the attempt to a stop.
Further efforts to detain Langston were made including the use of a taser. Langston attempted to avoid custody by holding his 1-year-old child in his arms during the confrontation, and using the child as a human shield. Officers were able to successfully remove the child from Langston via the passenger side of the vehicle, and during the arrest, Langston used a knife to stab two officers before being placed into handcuffs.
Both injured officers were conveyed to an area hospital, one by ambulance and the other by another officer at the scene. They were both treated and released.Langston was transported to the Bay County Jail and a report was submitted to the Bay County Prosecutors Office for review of potential charges. The 1-year-old child was unharmed and safely reunited with his mother.
