Hey DC! Got a wild punk rock story—like a crowd-shaking show at Fort Reno or Meridian Hill, a summer that changed your life, or a band that blew your mind? Roll up to the DC Humanities Truck at Rock Creek Park Day on Saturday, September 27 (at the Nature Center and Planetarium) and spill it! We’re collecting YOUR stories to keep the scene loud, proud, and alive. Punk isn’t just music, it’s memory, mayhem, and community. Come add your voice to DC’s legendary soundtrack.

This year’s theme for Rock Creek Park Day is punk rock—raw sound, bold spirit, and the rugged beauty of Rock Creek Park. From Boulder Bridge to mossy gravestones, this land has always had edge. Even nature gets loud—vines twist over stone, wildlife roams free, and rebellion grows wild.

No place rocked harder than Fort Reno, where bands like Fugazi, Rites of Spring, and Jawbox turned a Civil War site into a punk landmark.

As we celebrate 135 years of Rock Creek Park, join us in turning up the volume on all things rock—geological, musical, and cultural—on September 20 and 21 at Georgetown Waterfront Park and September 27 and 28 at the Nature Center and Planetarium.
