In Singapore, it’s not that easy to find a good Schnitzel (which is a thin, breaded, pan-fried cutlet). Those schnitzels I’ve had previously, were often too thick, greasy, dry or tough. 😔
So I was pleasantly surprised when I had my first bite of La Braceria’s Cotoletta di Vitello alla Milanese (Veal Lion Cutlet Milanese-style) ($32++)
The veal cutlet has a light, crispy batter on the outside while the meat inside is tender and full of flavor. This dish is so well done that it brought me back to Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹, which is really well known for their national dish (the Wiener Schnizel) and of course Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 🎼🎶
La Braceria serves really good pastas too. Unfortunately, it was so good I gobbled it down and forgot to take a picture. 😂
Must-tries are:
- Fettucine Norcina (Fettucine with Homemade Sausage, Mix Mushrooms and Fresh Black Truffle), $36++
- Linguine Al Granchio (Linguine tossed with fresh crab meat in light bisque sauce)
La Braceria is a hidden gem tucked away at the back of the Greenwood estate (which houses a few other good restaurants and the famous Lana Chocolate Cake). A quaint Italian restaurant that offers both indoor and alfresco dining, La Braceria is perfect for a date night where you can have an intimate conversation over wine in the quiet Greenwood estate.
Bonus: for those who are driving, the restaurant provides complimentary valet parking service on weekends.
