🧸 add some cozy to your bedroom

👉🏻 this chunky knit blanket is from by ! I really love this line - they have the softest colors and textures that blend easily to any space while also being more affordable!

☁️ for this how-to Tuesday we are talking about how one or two items can really add warmth and coziness to your bedroom. this is where you can be playful and mix and match patterns and textures that will bring a touch of organic and softness to a room. with everything in my room being shades of cream or white, a soft tan blanket adds some warmth to the space.

home tip Thursday:

“less is more”

• you don’t need to keep up with all the trends
• you can find peace in your home by removing clutter + reorganizing it so it functions for you
• find joy with what you do have

🧼 I spent time this weekend reorganizing my kitchen, we moved in so fast and it was not functioning the way we needed the space to.

🧠 with my OT (occupational therapist) brain I help others function in their home + daily living with a strategy called task analysis - I used this same principle to figure out how my husband + I function in this space… to do this start by asking yourself a few questions like:
how many times a year do I use this?
how many times a day do I reach for this?
what is the purpose of this item?
is this something that can be categorized with similar items?

🍪 example - we only bake around the holidays, so I moved a lot of my baking items up higher in our cabinets. we meal prep frequently so cooking items I moved closer within reach (think between hip to shoulder level)

☀️ you can find peace and happiness with what you have just by organizing your space to function for YOU and your family, remove anything that does not serve what your needs are! 🤍

soaking in all this sunshine coming in this morning ☀️

I never shared photos of my kitchen so here it is! first thing I was so excited to buy for my house were these bar stools from . I just love the wood tones and weave that just add warmth and touch of organic material to my bright white kitchen.

they say all white kitchens are coming out of style but I really love how airy + light my kitchen feels, if I want to add some color I can easily swap out with vases, greenery, etc. I love how versatile it can be, just needs warming up with the right materials.

home tip thursday:
“it’s okay to change your mind”

I spontaneously bought this beautiful rug from last weekend, I loved it online - I was impulsive and did not read the reviews (always read them when buying online!) the color was more brown

while I love the rug itself, the redness/brown color are really bringing out the yellow tones of my Benjamin Moore white dove paint on the walls so I’m not in love with it, so I’m returning the rug 🙃

color is powerful!

just putting it out there to tell you home decorating should be fun and you’re allowed to experiment!

it’s okay to take some things home, see how it looks and return if it doesn’t pan out how you envisioned! what’s important is to make a space you enjoy! 🕊️
