Fourth and Final Group of Real City Ambassadors
In no particular order:

🎖️Marcia Contreras: Deputy Executive Director at Mission Housing Development Corporation. She has been a pillar in our Mission community, building affordable housing as well as providing services to underserved families. She embodies true leadership, perseverence and love.

🎖️Mark Budak: Among his many accomplishments in life, the one that he currently carries high up with honor is his contributions as a Lowell High School Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is a proud native San Franciscan and a product of SF public schools, and he has shown his pride by giving back. He’s also one hell of a groovy dude with a positive spirit.

🎖️Xochitl Frausto: Administrative Coordinator at Calle 24 Latino Cultural District. She jokingly claims that her only job is to keep the office lights on, but her impact on the organization is beyond that. Since I’ve known her at Calle 24, she has been the engine that keeps the organization running. And what is even more admirable is that she is 100% a girl from Watts (and reps it hard), and yet you would think she’s a Mission girl by how much love she (silently) gives to el barrio. Respect.

🎖️William Cartagena: Appointed official for the City & County of SF as a Commissioner for the Office of Small Business, a successful entrepreneur from our very own Mission District, and Founder & Treasurer of Clecha. He focuses his efforts on the challenges experienced by small businesses in San Francisco and supports them by providing assistance services. His motto: knowledge is learned. Wisdom is earned. I thank him for putting me on to Clecha. Con Safos.

🎖️San Francisco Latino Task Force: A collaboration of over 20 community organizations that came together to meet the needs of Latino families during the COVID-19 pandemic. During a time of panic and fear, the LTF leaders—all mostly women— brought much needed services in health, education, housing, food, employment and rent relief to our families. Everyone from the LTF is a hero, a Real City Ambassador in my eyes.

Third Group of Real City Ambassadors
In no particular order:

🎖️Emmanuel Blackwell III: Creator, operator and owner of Swap Film, an unlimited 35mm b&w subscription service. If there was a camera lens that could tell the story of SF, it would be his. He is innovative, artistic and hella Frisco.

🎖️Rolando Tirado: He is the Founder and Guide of Kept Experiences, the best way to tour San Francisco. His inspiration comes from a passion of creating nuanced experiences that reveal the best places in SF unknown to travelers and locals. He is a City native, an avid traveler, a lover of the arts and a Mezcal connoisseur. Oh, and he a down ass homie del alma.

🎖️Kate Bueler: Development Director at Jamestown Community Center. She’s transformed from a college counselor and educator into a fundraiser for our underserved children & youth in this City. She is a hope dealer and a dream maker.

🎖️Per Sia: A non-binary arts teacher by day and THE Drag Queen of El Rio Bar by night. They/she was the first performer at the famous Drag Story Hour. Per Sia is a positive force of nature and is shedding light to Transgender and Non-binary issues, as well as creating platforms for self expression through music, dance, Drag and storytelling.

🎖️Giuliana Martínez: Founder and CEO of GM Consulting Group, LLC. GM Consulting Group is a community engagement firm that aims to bridge the gap in accessibility as well as provide strategic services for underrepresented communities to flourish. Giuliana is a strategic thinker, a go-getter, and a travel enthusiast.

🎖️Gary Carrier: Founder & CEO of Plataforma Impact, an award winning startup in Brazil that delivers IT skills training in low-income communities. He is preparing the next generation of untapped tech talent with a lot of grit and love. He is a visionary, a strategist y un amigo del alma.

🎖️Susy Rojas: For over 2 years she was the Community Wellness Team Coordinator at Unidos en Salud, a partnership between the Latino Task Force and UCSF to bring health services to the Latinx community in SF. Susy took care of hundreds of people during the pandemic through the distribution of COVID test kits, food deliveries, and sanitation supplies. A rockstar in my book.

🎖️Katy Birnbaum: Associate Director at Livable City, the nonprofit that manages Sunday Streets. She lives and breathes event productions and she does it with so much style and grace. It has been a pleasure collaborating and learning side by side with her.

🎖️Carnaval San Francisco: This goes out to the entire CSF Familia. You know who you are. We are about 50 immediate family members but over 500 extended family members that make this community celebration a reality every year. Next year we will come together to celebrate 45 years.

🎖️María Durán: A wonderful human, a loving mother, and a successful independent woman in Tech.

Larry is a storyteller born & raised in San Francisco. He is known in the city for his adventurous lifestyle and as a radio personality for the premiere Hip Hop station in the Bay Area (106 KMEL ).
Before being involved with activism, he crafted his talents in various forms of performance arts. Music/Poetry (shout out to Youth Speaks) has been a part of his life since childhood. He is also a life long joke teller, first learning the craft of Stand-up while working security at The Punch Line San Francisco / Cobb's Comedy Club , finally hitting the stage after taking a workshop at the famous San Jose Improv. His most recent accolade, is being promoted to “main stage company” at BATS , the top improv theatre in Northern California.
He graduated from SF State University majoring in Creative Writing, Academy of Art University majoring in Motion Pictures & Television, and the Meisner Technique Studio acting program. He has also studied at different theaters around the Bay (i.e. the A.C.T.)- in classes ranging from clowning to public speaking.
His free time is dedicated to creating content for social media- follow him to learn more or to check out some of his art: (url)
