Well.. I certainly wasn’t ready to share this news however it has come to my attention that people are so kindly sharing it without my permission, so here goes…

It is with great sadness I make a pretty big announcement for Clarity Media… I have been offered an incredible opportunity to step into a senior management role in my mining career. This will mean my roster will be changing to ensure I can support my new, incredible team on-site, and taking on a lot more responsibility. On top of this, I have also began transitioning into studying my Masters of Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control, therefore reducing a lot of my (already very minimal) free time that I spend running the business.

If you have known me for some time, you will know how passionate I am about my career and the literal blood sweat and tears I’ve put in for an opportunity like this. It is truly a dream come true for me and I’m so bloody excited for this new chapter.

I have to say a MASSIVE thankyou to every single person who has supported CM over the past 2 years and I’m so grateful for the amazing friendships I’ve created on this journey. I will of course still be doing some photography and creative stuff on the side for my loyal clients so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, however a hiatus for Clarity Media is occurring come 2023. I will be honouring my booked clients and any affected bookings will be contacted.

Please know this was a terribly tough decision to make and I would love to continue this business but my career always has and always will come first, and it’s time for me to take a step back to focus on it wholeheartedly. It’s also really important to me that I allow myself time to relax! So once again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I hope to cross paths with you all in the future while I’m travelling the countryside. This is a goodbye for now, hopefully not forever. I love you guys 🥺🤍

Today marks two years of being in business… what a ride! I am so dang thankful for all of the clients turned friends and family, ya’ll really do keep me going 🥺 it’s so wild to me that you put so much trust in me to capture such a special, finite time. Real. Raw. Ephemeral.

This is Clarity Media.

It’s been a whirlwind since opening my business and I’m so grateful for this journey but it’s time for me to really fulfil my passion. I want to make art. I want to create stories with my galleries. I want to show RAW. REAL. I have taken some time off to evaluate this decision and although difficult (my people pleasing tendencies are screaming rn 😂) I have to listen to my heart and soul and pour nothing but love and passion into my work. I have had so many changes in my personal life and career and I need to adjust the business accordingly. This year I am taking on passion projects as priority - if you are willing to let me take creative control of your shoot you will receive preference. My work I am posting now, and will continue to post from here on out will much better reflect the art I want to produce. I will still honour traditional style sessions however they will not be taking up majority of my sessions any more. I want to work with people who know what I’m about, trust my craft, and want to create something DIFFERENT. My pricing structure will be adjusted to fit this in the coming weeks. I am now taking bookings for March onwards - please message me and tell me about YOU and what you are looking to achieve, so I can create a vision for you and we can produce something magical ✨

Holy s**t it’s Christmas! I’ve been so bloody crazy with minis, shoots and editing that I have JUST realised it’s Christmas in like two seconds 🤯

I’ll be continuing to be super quiet on here for the next 2 weeks or so while I spend time with fam, continue shooting and editing and have a Christmas bevy. I have so much content to post that I’m superrrrr behind on, but I’ll get there 🤪 I thank each and every one of your support and hope you have a great lil holiday 🎄

🎄WHAT A WEEKEND🎄

Weekend one of my Christmas minis is done and dusted! I am so so happy with how they all turned out and am so thankful to you all for putting your trust in me ❤️ A total of 35 mini sessions shot, edited and delivered in 3 massive days!! 🤯

I still have 4 spots left for minis on the 4th of December… these are my last sessions for the year and for a little while 🤭 so don’t walk… run!!!

I have so many things to say about this weekend and so many people to thank but just want to say a huge thanks to everyone who was involved. Special mention to Kelly who literally held my fragile self together this past 2 weeks 😂😂 we love you!!!

I FU**ED UP! 🥴

Ya’ll… I was really hoping you guys would vote on my story today to hear anything BUT this story.. This happened over 12 months ago and emotionally I am still not okay. But, the overwhelming response was to hear about the most embarrassing thing to happen to me at a shoot so here goes..

Anyone local to the area knows around June-November is the typical crushing season. At the time I was working at the sugar mill in the lab and was coming off overtime night shifts nearing the end of crush. I had just worked 8 nights in a row (we normally only did 4/5) and I had a shoot booked for that afternoon. So I came home from work at 6am and jumped into bed. All of my shift workers will empathise with me that when coming off night shift, you feel like you’ve drunk 3 bottles of whiskey and had an MMA fight 😵‍💫.You feel s**t house. But in order to get your sleeping pattern back you have to only sleep a couple of hours and force yourself to stay awake.

My alarm goes off at 12pm, a reasonable time.. I think to myself that maybe if I snooze for 10 minutes, I won’t feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. I wake up to a noise…not my alarm.. my phone is ringing. Unknown number? Ignore. Same number calls again, I decide I should probably answer. “Hi this is (we will call him Jeff) Jeff, uhmmmm, just wondering if you’re coming to our shoot? You’re not here and you are 15 minutes late.” HOLY F**K 😱. I have never jumped out of bed so fast in my life! I pull together my gear and literally Tokyo drift to this session. Im full body shaking with anxiety, knowing that this EXTENDED FAMILY session of around 12 people are all waiting for me. The pure embarrassment I felt knowing I sounded like a croaky old man answering the phone out of my dead sleep.. I knew I had to come clean. Thankfully, everyone was super understanding about my tardiness due to pure exhaustion but I couldn’t help but feel pure shame the entire session. I got in my car, called Dylan and couldn’t even explain myself before I was full blown Kim K ugly crying to the point where I had to pull over. OMFG 😭. Still to this day it literally turns my stomach to know my client WOKE ME UP to get to the session!! 😳

A bit of an update for the next few weeks:

Over the next 3 weeks I have 43 sessions to shoot, edit and deliver. Please be mindful when sending me a message or email that there will be delays! As always anything urgent please call me or follow up with me x I will be handing a lot of enquires over to my admin lady from here on out so I can focus on all the other stuff! You guys know I’m a stress head 😅

I am not taking any more bookings this year except the few Christmas mini cancellations spots I have left. I am also not taking on clients for 2022 YET. There will be a wait list coming in December you are welcome to jump on to be the first to hear of openings next year.

Christmas mini clients - you will receive an email this week with all of the final details if your shoot is on the 19th or 20th.

Print orders - all print orders (apart from Xmas mini clients) must be finalised by 23rd of November in order to arrive in time for Christmas! This is my print company’s cut off date. If you are having issues or need a hand, get in touch x

Lastly I am not taking wedding bookings for 2023 at all nor will I be giving quotes. I’m happy to give estimate prices but I really have no guarantees of my roster/pricing/availability that far ahead. As most of you know this is my little side hustle and my priority is always my full time STEM career.

As always I love you all like my besties and thank you for being the best bunch of people I could ask for. Can’t wait to do silly season capturing all ya mugs 🎅🏻❤️

The fact that these two hadn’t ever had their photos taken professionally actually made me tear up while editing 🥺

I’m self crowning my official title of “Dad Whisperer” 😎

Kids are easy - I can make myself look like an absolute nut case or talk about farts and I always nail a few giggles but the dads are always tough ones to crack! I’m not sure if it’s because I’m the most bogan country bumpkin to walk the face of earth, or that I’m a huge chatter box but for some reason I always seem to win the dads over 😂 I love when I see a complete attitude change from “I don’t want to be here” to “I can tolerate this” 🤪 it’s probably my greatest sense of achievement! If your man’s is apprehensive about getting pictures, rest assured I will make them feel as comfortable as possible and get you over and done with before any tears, meltdowns and muttered swear words 😅😂
