Drum roll please 🥁 Meet our panelist 🎉

Evelia Torres is the founder & CEO of De Mi Tierra, a natural skincare brand that pays tribute to traditional Mexican skincare rituals.

Her mission is to celebrate the beauty of indigenous Latin American ingredients and empower Latina women to honor their beauty and culture unapologetically.

De Mi Tierra was founded in 2018 when she didn’t see herself culturally represented in the skincare aisle.

Growing up, her Abuelita utilized ancestral healing practices for both skin and health, and this holistic and natural approach to skincare and overall wellness came from her teachings.

As solo founder & CEO of De Mi Tierra, Evelia oversees all operations. From product formulation, procurement, marketing and social media, strategy, product fulfillment and more, Evelia currently wears all of the hats.

As a mother and daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, Evelia believes that representation matters.

She is on a mission to empower the next generation of Latinas (including her 3 daughters) to honor their beauty and culture while inspiring them to live boldly.

To date, Evelia has been featured on WGN Chicago, Univision, Univision Chicago, Chicago Tribune, ABC 7 Chicago, The Mujerista, and We All Grow Latina.

Kicking off September Month with our next panelist: Drum roll please 🥁

Meet our panelist 🎉

Diana’s life embodies resilience and determination. Born and raised in Chicago, she weathered a rocky childhood, including time in foster care, living with family out of state, and experiencing homelessness with mother and sister.

By the age of 10, she had attended 11 grammar schools. At 17, Diana became a single mother but defied the odds by graduating high school, the first in her family to do so.

At 18, Diana ventured on her own, balancing work, rent, and education while pursuing a modeling career. As years passed she transitioned into nursing, embraced marriage and celebrated the birth of her daughter.

Yet, personal struggles with depression and anxiety fueled her passion for mental health advocacy, which she expressed through her Instagram .model.nurse sharing joy and inspiration with her followers.

In late 2022, Diana undertook the challenging process of a divorce, choosing to prioritize her mental well-being. Taking the courageous decision to start anew relinquishing everything she worked for. This turning point inspired her to create “Intend and Inspire,” a mental health platform dedicated to helping others heal from trauma and live intentional lives.

Diana now hosts mental health advocacy events that blend photography and modeling, traveling to various cities, hosting her own photo walks and collaborating with top brands like Optimum Nutrition, Think! Nutrition Bars, Sony, and Wescott Lighting with her work featured in various publications.

With a promising future ahead, Diana is committed to merging her passions for mental health advocacy and modeling, continuing to inspire others along the way.

Please join me in welcoming Diana to our conversation on 9/28!

Our First Annual Mamá Summit and community event hosted by yours truly, Arely Lagunas, host podcast 🎉

Why This Event Matters:

Motherhood summits are vital for fostering community, raising awareness on key issues, providing education, and empowering mothers.

Thank you Noeli Serna Legal Services for your heartfelt feedback and for participating in one of our quarterly events we plan to host this year designed for our community 🫶🏽We loved having you join us! It's truly uplifting to witness the constructive influence of such gatherings, nurturing valuable connections and carving out space for our well-being, enabling us to replenish and prioritize self-care amidst our numerous responsibilities as humans, parents, and often caregivers 💗

Thank you to for hosting a rejuvenating facial workshop, brought to us by Evelia Torres, founder of . I highly, highly encourage everyone to:

1. Check out Arely’s podcast, Dropping Gems Con Muchos Colores, celebrating Latina motherhood voices to bring you genuine insights of the highs, lows, and in between of working moms from a First Gen Latina lens.

2. Learn more about the incredible products, mission and story of De Mi Tierra, a clean and waterless skincare line that pays tribute to traditional Mexican skincare rituals. They are taking skincare back to basics using only earth-made ingredients that are indigenous to Latin America.

I walked away from this event feeling like I had spent a spa day with mis comadres.

Spending an afternoon with fellow Latina entrepreneurs fills my cup. And having the honor of representing the Latine business community in my legal practice brings me immense pride.

My community knows the struggles. The language barriers, the cultural nuances, the systemic challenges that can make navigating the legal world feel daunting.

For me, it’s more than just providing legal assistance; it’s about breaking down barriers and ensuring our community and all deserving entrepreneurs have the resources and support they deserve to thrive.

Thanks to connectors like Arely, our community has safe spaces to come together and learn from each other. And we all leave glowing, sometimes both literally and figuratively!

When I learned you were growing in my belly, I was filled with joy but also felt terrified and realized both emotions could coexist. I had given birth to your sister 4 months before. My nervous system was at capacity and disregulated due to life events that year and I felt you deserved a mom who had it all together for your arrival. Then I realized god’s timing is always divine and you were the light that would guide the way bright. You reminded me how strong I can be and god reminded he’s always by my side. Today I celebrate your birthday, and gods most precious Christmas gift to our family. We love you Noel. Happy birthday Noel ⭐️
