Thordang came in as runner up in the Irish Short & Audience Choice category!!!
It might not be the top spot, but we'll take runner up!!
After all the hard work our cast and crew put into to making Thordang become a reality, it's welcome recognition that we're doing something right!!
Congratulations to the creators of Banshee and Shadowban!!

Last night saw the first official public showing of Thordang, at the Strand Cinema as part of the Dark Hedges Film Festival.
We'd like to thank the judges of The Dark Hedges Film Festival for deeming it a worthy contender!! We heard there was quite a bit of competition to fend off, but we did it!!
It was great to finally see all our collective efforts come to the big screen and to be able to watch it as a team.

Our on set Photographer really knows how to get the blood pumping. He's been hard at work whipping up a load of the stuff for this weekends shooting!!
As part of the Irish Lores and Legends: Thordang crew, I've been tasked with the job of making a metric tonne of fake blood for filming this weekend....I hope we don't run out 😂😂😂

Hey everyone, apologies for the lack of updates regarding the documentary!
Due to the ongoing pandemic, production had to be halted for the safety of the crew and everyone involved. Unfortunately during the hiatus, our documentarian, Shel had to step down from the role due to personal reasons.
However, as we had filmed over half of what we had planned, we have decided to continue on with the project with Shel's blessing.
This means that some reshoots will have to take place, but fortunately for us, the teams Director, Aaron has the most knowledge surrounding the legend of Thordang, and has taken up the role of Documentarian with Shel helping him in the wings.

It's amazing to think that this land was once inhabited by our ancestors and possibly Vikings. We found this lonely tree as we were travelling to one of the locations and had to capture it. Northern Ireland truly is a beautiful place.

Whilst shooting some filler B-Roll footage, we heard a very strange, and quite frankly, terrifying sound.....suffice to say we legged it after hearing it lol!!
Could this be further proof that Thordang really exists?

Thordang
The story goes that when the Vikings came to Ireland to trade slaves and raid, a Berserker named Thor attacked a pagan community with such violence and brutality that a pagan witch cursed Thor; causing him to be refused entry to Valhalla, doomed to walk the earth for all eternity, feeding on the souls of his victims.
As the Vikings left the coast with a boat full of slaves, they discovered that their slaves had been brutally massacred with their eyes removed!
The Vikings went in search of Thor, who by the time they had found him, was no longer a proud Berserker, but instead, a twisted beast with huge horns, dripping with the blood of the slaves that he had so violently slaughtered, and thus, Thordang was born. They fought the beast tirelessly until eventually they overpowered him tossed him overboard. Legend has it that Thordang washed up somewhere on the Irish coast; now believed to be as we know it, Northern Ireland.
Some say that he still to this very day, walks the Glen's of Antrim in search of victims to feed his endless thirst for souls in the hope that he will one day collect enough to be given entry into Valhalla that he so desperately craves……
The story of Thordang is somewhat of a spoken legend, being passed down by generation to generation. We would love to hear from you if you have heard of this once proud Berserker Viking, or better still…. Seen something that fits the beast’s description and lived to tell the tale….
