After the most recent round of the FA Cup, fans are once again debating the quality of refereeing in England. With questionable decisions, inconsistency, and ongoing VAR debates, many are asking: Should the Premier League and FA Cup bring in more foreign referees?

Many top leagues, including La Liga, Serie A, and the Bundesliga, regularly use officials who oversee major European fixtures. Meanwhile, English football continues to rely on a small pool of domestic referees. Is it time to introduce more foreign officials to raise the standard?

Gareth Southgate announces his England squad in the run up to this summers Euros.
Anthony Gordon and Jarrad Branthwaite get their first caps whilst Ivan Toney and Joe Gomez are recalled. Jordan Henderson, now at Ajax is also in the squad but there is no room for Kalvin Phillips with the ex-Leeds midfielder suffering a torrid start at West Ham.

England squad

Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal).
