You lie in bed, wide awake. No matter what you try, nothing helps you sleep. You've tried all kinds of sleep aids, both herbal and medicinal, but still nothing helps.

As you lie there in bed you start thinking about things. Nothing in particular is just when you are alone your head is the only place to go.

Soon the anxiety sets in because give traveled so deep in your own thoughts. It doesn't take long to realize that you is time to get out of bed and get on with your day.

But you lay there longer still, thinking of all the life choices that have gotten you to this point in your life. What could you have done better? Is it really worth it?

Now the depression has a foothold. You suddenly realize that you need is the only safe place to be. Right there under those covers you're protected. No one can harm you. The world can't judge you. So you stay in bed now paralyzed by the fear that the depression and the anxiety brought on. That could have been avoided had you only slept. But you can't

So you lie there in bed. Wide awake.

Thanksgiving Day, a day to be thankful for what we have, a day to spend time with loved ones. Its not about the food, (although we can all agree its a major part😜)

Today I want to remind you that there are those that cannot be with their loved ones. So many different reasons.

With a special remembrance to those who have lost a loved one recently, or to those serving in our Military who couldnt make it home, and even the trucker who helps bring the food to the stores so you can eat, who might be stuck out on the road somewhere.

So please while you are being thankful for what you have in front of you. Remember those that arent here.
