The absolutely tragic case of Reena Virk. This episode will break your heart, but Reena’s story is one that needs to be told. It’s hard to sum up this 14 year old girl’s short and tumultuous life in one caption. Reena was murdered at 14 years old. 16 children…all under the age of 16, knew about and/or participated in her murder. How? Why? Why was her mother left grieving the life of a daughter cut short so senselessly? These are answers we may never know, but this is her story.

This week, I was lucky enough to be able to finish editing my collaboration with Courtney and Patrick from Evil Pudding Podcast, These two put together an amazing, detail-packed podast, and if you're not listening to them, you should be.

I started off the episode with Installment #10 of Architect Mayhem. This week's Architect-gone-bad is a UK man who made his amazing Argentinian wife disappear, not only out of spite but also hoping to capitalize on her estate after she'd been missing for seven years. Michael Jonathan Morton had a head start on the investigation, and Gracia Lezama Morton's remains have still never been found.

If you're already a fan of Evil Pudding, this episode is going to be a treat for you, because this is their first time playing the good guy! Courtney brings us the unbelievable survival story of Illinois teenager Ashley Reeves, who was groomed from a young age and nearly killed by her former teacher. You'll be both angry and amazed by this incredible story!!

If you hear the fluctuations in the sound quality, I'm sorry, but if you hang around for the bloopers, you'll understand what happened. Plus you'll get to hear about Coconut the Great Pyrenees's nightmare and Jackson the bulldog's snoring problem. This episode was a real challenge because of the technical issues, but it's a good one, and I'm really proud of it.

The Murder of Becky Watts
On Friday, February 20th, 2015, at 4 pm, a 999 call was made reporting 16 year old Becky Watts missing.
Becky had last been seen the previous morning by her family. She had last left her home in Crown Hill, Bristol with her phone, her tablet and her laptop.
She had not told anyone where she was going or what she would be doing. She did not bring with her a change of clothes, and what’s worse, she wasn’t responding to anyone’s texts or calls…
Despite being 16, this was completely out of character for Becky…she had never been one to stay out too late and she ALWAYS answered her parent’s calls and texts.
As the search for Becky began, her family and the Bristol police felt that something must be horribly wrong for Becky to have vanished without a trace. Not even in their worst nightmare could they imagine what had happened to their bubbly, beautiful 16 year old daughter. This is the depraved and shocking case of the disappearance of Becky Watts.

Odd that I received my official diagnosis in May! Courtney here. So guys, as part of my disease (SLE lupus with organ involvement) I have random “flares”. And since my neurological system is one of the affected systems, I lose my hearing every time I have a flare. 🙄 Yea, no fun.
As you can imagine, this makes podcasting with a co-host very difficult lol. However, that doesn’t mean this is the end of us. We just need some time/patience. And who knows…maybe Patrick can take over some episodes until we can get myself into remission and/or a hearing aide 🙏🏼
Until then, I can’t thank y’all enough for your patience. We are officially going to take a much needed break for the month of June and we will back at you, better than ever, in July. I can’t wait!
Thank you ALL for your never ending support. We love you so very much.

Courtney here! 1/2 of Evil Pudding: A True Crime Podcast. So I’m about to get a bit more personal than I’d like, but the time has come.
After an exhausting and scary past six+ months, I have been diagnosed with Lupus.
I’ve never known, personally, anyone with Lupus so this is new to me. I do know that there are lots of medications and lots of prayer involved. It’s going to be a journey, for sure. We may miss an episode here and there until I can get a “handle” on this new way of living, so please be patient with me/us. And know that any downtime I have is being spent deep-diving into true crime 🤣
Also if you or someone you know is facing Lupus, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our DM’s are always open.

In August of 2005, Hurricane Katrina, one of the worst natural disasters to ever strike the US, devastated the Gulf Coast claiming the lives of over 2,000 people.
Also claiming lives during the same year was a king-active serial; known as the Bayou Killer.
Ronald Dominique was single handedly responsible for the brutal r**e and murder of 23 men between 1997-2006. With his dumpy 5’5 frame and his ability to keep to himself, the unassuming Ron Dominique was able to r**e and kill without ever being suspected; going unnoticed throughout rural Cajun country as he left a trail of bodies in his wake. So devoted to his sick craft that not even a natural disaster of biblical proportions could stop him.

Happy Friday! New episode from our dear friends and fellow true crime fanatics True Crime BnB Podcast

This week's Episode 67 (here: linktr.ee/truecrimebnb ) explores two stories that involve betrayals, although they're not the type of betrayals that usually appear in this podcast.

Beth takes us to Americus, Georgia, where the murder of Margaret Leigh Bell is unlikely to ever be solved because so many mistakes were made when the case was still warm.

Leigh's case was a suggestion from my friend Brian, and I hope that he and others who remember Leigh's story are satisfied that we did right by her. Because she has never had justice, and her family has suffered since 1979, when the amazing 15 year old was brutally taken from them.

Bailey follows up with the survival story of a woman who was treated like family by her neighbors, but some families are not what they appear, and some people are very good at hiding their evil.

Kimberly Morton was starting her life and had so many exciting new things happening, and she couldn't wait to share it with her closest friends. But one of them had a secret, and when he finally let it out, he found out that Kimberly was stronger than he expected.

She took her experience and set out to make a difference, and that's exactly what she has done.

So when we recorded this, Beth had pinkeye, and because of her blurry vision, she was having a really hard time reading what she had typed...leading to great confusion for Bailey. But no worries, Bailey is a good little editor and made it comprehensible.

In our latestest episode, we covered the Beast of Colombia. Luis Garavito made a public appeal in 2021 to be released from prison. By Colombian law, the most time anyone can serve in prison is 40 years. Despite killing over 300 children, Garavito is eligible for parole this year (2023). He qualifies for early release due to “good behavior”.
In the first photo, you can see authorities uncovering just one of his MASS graves. This one in particular contained the bodies of approximately 25 children.
Please consider signing the petition to keep this monster in prison. He doesn’t deserve freedom. Ever. Petition is linked in our episode show notes.

By the time all was said and done, many of Luis Garavito’s MASS Graves would be uncovered; revealing the bodies of over 300 tortured young boys…many of whom remain nameless to this day.

Episode 64 is a shorter one, but centered around two amazing people who had some really bad things happen to them. Linktr.ee/truecrimebnb

Bailey starts us off with the unsolved murder of Judy Smith. Judy was a wonderful human, a Bostonian who had a happy family life and an important career at which she excelled. On a trip to Philadelphia, Judy just....vanished.

There were sightings of her between Philadelphia and Boston, but where she was found five months later, 600 miles away in Mount Pisgah, North Carolina, hint at an ominous sequence of events that nobody really knows for certain.

Beth follows up with the survivor story of Angelique X. Angelique is an Australian woman who was held captive for three years in her teens and tortured by the monster who kept her there by way of manipulation and lies.

When she met an amazing person in 2017, he decided he had no choice but to free her from her nightmare. Angelique got away, and she and her friend will always be besties, because she knows he saved her.

In the bloopers this week, Beth shows that sometimes she can be, as her grandma used to say about other, unnamed people, "dumb as a box o' rocks."

Need to know how to make chocolate bunny shots for when you get home? Of course!

You need:

--6 hollow chocolate bunnies, heads nibbled (or cut) off, chilled (if you want, you can break the heads into pieces to garnish the cocktails, or mortise them so the ears hang off the side of the body. Creepy, but YUM)

--4 oz vodka

--6 oz Baileys

--6 oz Kahlua

Shake or stir the alcohol together and pour into the bunny bodies. These can be kept in the refrigerator for a while, if needed.

If you don't garnish with bunny heads, or even if you do, you can top with canned whipped cream. Enjoy!
