India's first mainline diesel locomotives imported in 1957 from ALCO as a part of 'LCO FA' world locomotive. It was rated at 1950 hp, 1450 kw, with a top speed of 110km/hr(68mph). The very first WDM-1 is on display in the national rail museum new delhi,rest is scrapped.
