The crash happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. at 30th Street and Sepulveda Avenue in #SanBernardino. It appears that a Cadillac Escalade t-boned a Tesla sedan, but San Bernardino Police are looking into the exact cause of the collision.
Local residents who ran to the scene were able to help remove a young boy from the back seat of the Tesla. San Bernardino County firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver. Both were transported to hospitals.
An occupant from the Cadillac was later transported to a hospital with complaints of pain. The SUV's other occupants were uninjured.
Though the cause of this particular collision is still being investigated, several neighbors tell us that they have voiced concerns about the stretch of 30th Street between Broadmoor Boulevard and Sierra Way.
Among residents' concerns are speeding in the area and the inability for drivers to safely turn left onto 30th from Sepulveda because of vehicles parked along the north side of 30th, which block the view of drivers.
There have been several collisions along this stretch of 30th Street.

Wine Now also happens to be the #InlandEmpireโs first Black and woman-owned wine boutique. Dezzarae Henderson is the owner of Wine Now. The vision for her unique lounge began to come to life during the pandemic.
Henderson says her entry into the wine scene has been a little intimidating but her business is being extremely well received. Positive online reviews and returning customers are a testament to the welcoming and inclusive experience at Wine Now.
Hendersonโs goal is to highlight the often-overlooked diversity in the wine scene; offering wines created by women, Black, Latino, Middle Eastern, and small independent winemakers.
Tucked in between two eateries, Wine Now Lounge is located at 8419 Haven Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, just doors down from the Haven City Market. In addition to being a tasting room and store, Wine Now is also the perfect spot for date nights, happy hour, live music, business networking, nonprofit fundraisers, or those other special private events.
In addition to a diverse selection of wines, Wine Now also offers beer, non-alcoholic, natural, organic, and biodynamic wines. You can follow Wine Now Lounge on Facebook or on Instagram @winenowlounge.๐ท

On May 21, 2024, the Redlands City Council approved the renaming to honor Norman N. Martinez and Oddie J. Martinez, Redlandsโ first Latino City Council members. Both men were lifelong residents of Redlands who grew up and worked in the citrus industry.
Norman Martinez (1925-1998), a World War II Navy veteran, became the first Latino to serve on the Redlands City Council in 1958. He held office until 1970. Norman was deeply involved in the community, co-founding and serving as president of the Redlands Boys Club and Redlands Pony League Baseball. As a charter member of American Legion Post 650 since 1949, he held various leadership roles, including state vice-commander, as well as serving in the 40 & 8 Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Oddie J. Martinez Jr. (1928-1995), also a World War II Navy veteran, served on the Redlands City Council from 1978 to 1985. In 1978, he made history as the city's first Latino mayor and the first from the north side. Oddie was an educator who became a principal at McKinley, Mariposa, and Cram schools. In addition to coordinating foreign language programs for RUSD, he lectured at the University of Redlands, UC Riverside, CSUSB, and SB Valley College.
Joining the extended Martinez Family for the special renaming ceremony were Rep. Pete Aguilar, Redlands Mayor Eddie Tejeda, Councilmembers Barich and Saucedo, and members of American Legion Post 650.
During his comments, Mayor Tejeda, who spearheaded the name change, said "They brought honor to the Latino community...Oddie and Norman decided to serve on the city council and thankfully our community accepted them and voted them int

But it was a Southridge Tech Middle School scholar named Cyrus Moss that first set the wheels in motion for the name change when he presented the Fontana Unified Board with a petition signed by 132 members of the community at its March 13 meeting.
O'Day H. Short was a Black refrigeration engineer who broke the color barrier in Fontana after buying land and building a house south of Base Line Road. Short contacted the FBI and the Black press after receiving a warning of imminent violence from racist vigilantes. On December 16, 1945, his house exploded in a fireball. His wife Helen, and young children Barry and Carol Ann died due to their burns by the following day. O'Day died a month later.
Authorities claimed that the explosion was due to a faulty oil lamp, however, thanks to an arson investigator hired by the NAACP, it was concluded that the fire was deliberately set from outside the house. Randall Pepper Elementary was then built on the same site in 1950.
When Fontana Unifiedโs Board voted on the name change during its September 4 meeting, an emotional release was felt throughout the room, with standing ovations and Moss shedding tears alongside his family in the front row.
Before the vote, Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren delivered a passionate and heartfelt speech. San Bernardino County Supervisor Jesse Armendarez and Bishop Emory James also addressed the school

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., San Bernardino County firefighters were sent to a structure fire at Burger Point, 479 S. Mt. Avenue Avenue. Arriving crews found flames from the top of the restaurant.
Crews were ultimately able to extinguish the fire. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, but may have been the result of an electrical issue.
When we stopped by Saturday morning, we caught up with San Bernardino Third Ward Councilmember Juan Figueroa who stopped by to show support for Burger Point owner Mohammad Ali.
Despite Friday night's fire and a recent burglary, Ali tells Inland Wire that he understands the City's challenges, but will stay in San Bernardino to provide food, jobs, and a place for important community events like SBPD's "Coffee with a Cop".
The restaurant will now remain closed, however, a second San Bernardino location is open at 444 W. Mill Street, across from the National Orange Show Fairgrounds.
Councilmember Figueroa praised Ali and Burger Point for their generosity and contributions to the community. Figueroa said he will explore ways for the City to assist Ali.
In the meantime, Inland Wire joins Councilmember Figueroa in encouraging the community to stop by and support Burger Point at their Mill Street location.
