‘Funk Machines’, is Jani Ho’s third EP release on Machine Label, featuring four original tracks and three remixes that seamlessly blend electro funk-infused rhythms with space-age techno vibes, this EP is poised to transport listeners to a realm where groove reigns supreme.
One of the highlights of the EP is ‘G.I.L.’ a collaboration with Audience, a dynamic fusion of their respective styles that pushes the techno electro groove. Additionally, there’s three remixes of ‘G.I.L’. , first up is Disruptive Pattern Material, the ex-motor city artist turned Melbourne resident, whose remix adds a gritty edge to the EP while staying true to its roots. Helsinki-based Hypnobombia delivers a hypnotic reimagining infusing it with a sense of otherworldly allure. Rounding out the remix lineup is French techno legend Xavier Morel, whose interpretation brings a dose of European flair to the EP.

Every week DJs post how excited they are for their gigs with a sliding scale truth. However, I am genuinely excited to play kubik.live Saturday.

Centuries ago, in pre-pandemic times (aka 2019), I was supposed to play Kubik with Radio Slave (Official), Mark Flash Officialicial of UNDERGROUND RESISTANCEresistance313, and Patrick Mason as part of Melbourne Music Week but unfortunately the scheduling didn’t work out. While I didn’t play, I did still visit Melbourne, get a hang in with Kevin from Stable Music, Matt, Patrick, and Mark and catch the first night of Kubik.

What I said then: “This is incredible, I can’t believe you pulled this off as an independent promoter”

Needless to say, that Kubik has now evolved and expanded into a festival, this time beachside in Frankston, I am looking forward to finally playing and making that same statement again.

Congrats to Stable Music and the Kubik team. See you all on the dancefloor.

After years spent working tirelessly behind the scenes at labels, distributors, promoters, radio stations, and warming up top clubs, last year saw Disruptive Pattern Material take a step out of the shadows and into his own. The New York born, Michigan raised artist’s stints in Brooklyn and Detroit can be heard in his effortless mixing of American house and techno from past, present, and even the future. I got my Instagram back.
I wasn't sure I was going to get my account back from the h4ck3rs and in some ways I wasn't sure if I wanted to.

A forced hiatus from social media felt... pretty healthy. I found myself with more time, clarity and fantasizing about not returning. That said, as much as I sometimes find social media to be a chore, and at odds with maintaining privacy - I can't deny the power to create connection. I'm grateful for the friendships I have made, and the global community I am a part of, and of course the practicality of the gigs and remixes I have been hired for via DM.

I would love to say that now that I am back my content will be more engaging - but I can be honest with myself that I am just too private to post videos of me at gigs, selfies with my famous friends, or portraits of me "looking cool". Nothing wrong with any of that, it's just not me.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

It’s been exactly 1 month since the release of the Foundation EP and it’s been busy - disassembled my studio, moved house, traveled, holidays, 3+ weeks of non-functional internet, etc.

I finally took a look at the DJ feedback reports from the EP and it’s been overwhelming; support from friends, peers, heroes, and the unexpected exceeded my expectations.

A huge thanks to the DJs supporting the record, the feedback, and those sharing via Aslice

I’m humbled 🙏

We are closing out the (release-) year in style with a worthy remix package at Safe Space🔥🔥
We started in january and we couldn't be happier how the first year of the label turned out thanks to all of you! We made an amazing remix package to the first 2 releases that had no remixes on them to wrap it up.
Vinicius Honorio went super dark and on floor-destroyer-mode with his remix for "Left the club tipsy" while made "Bigger than yours" even bigger and bouncier and Disruptive Pattern Material went deep inside the rabbit hole with his 2 trippy retakes of "Sounds of Life" in the form of one dub and one rebuild version. Thanks guys for putting your magic on these, love you ❤️‍🔥🤗

Respect to the icon that is DBridge for the support and spreading the word into the drum and bass scene and beyond. I also wanted to take this moment to thank all the DJs supporting Aslice and its vision since we launched. If you haven’t seen it yet, we recently celebrated crossing a full quarter and successfully paid out a large number of producers.

If you’re curious, we just shared a few of their stories of what it means to them to get paid real money for their art – some even for the first time. While it’s only been less than 4 months since Aslice launched, I couldn’t be happier to see what we’ve built is actually working, and money is going towards many up-and-coming producers and artists! Let’s keep it moving!
