Did you know that puffed water lily seeds are called Poool Makhana? They make a great Indian snack that packs a crunch that rivals Cheetos, popcorn, and potato chips!
Plain water lily seeds have a mild, earthy flavor — but they can be seasoned for a savory, spicy, or cheesy snack.
Indian Savory Recipe:
Roast 2-3 cups of Phool Makhana in a pan with 2 Tablespoons of ghee.
In a small bowl, mix the following together:
* ½ teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder (adjust to taste)
* ¼ teaspoon salt
* ½ teaspoon garlic powder
* ½ teaspoon chaat masala
* 1.5 Tablespoons of water
Add the spice paste and stir until thoroughly coated. Turn off heat and they will crisp as they cool.
Enjoy!
