I have had multiple people ask me what the Kickstarter program is all about, so here is the scoop in short form:
Kickstarter is a platform for authors, singers, artists, inventors, movie producers, etc. to help fund their projects. In my case, I am trying to publish the three-book collection of “Baldy” nature books I just authored and illustrated. I figure out the minimum to publish each of the three books and set that as my goal which is $7,200. Each backer gets to choose which of the nine rewards they would like for the monies they commit to. For example; for $9.00 you get all three books in E-book form, $16.00 gets you your choice of one hardcover book, and $36.00 gets you the entire hardcover collection. The shipping is free. I even have a reward at $1.00. The funding is all or nothing and the campaign last for 30 days. The backers do not get charged unless the project is fully funded.
