White Spring - is the first release by drummer and percussionist Andreas Ziarkas. Stirred by a cold snowy day and inspired by real life events.
Ziarkas’s compositions address the slow burn process of getting over the memories of winter both physically and metaphorically, reflecting and healing to re-emerge after laying dormant and still. White Spring bloomed in 2021, when Andreas Ziarkas asked fellow musicians Tommy Remon and Andrew Noble to join him for a two-day recording session at Ollywood Studios in London, United Kingdom.
Stylistically White Spring draws inspiration from the post-bop group Larry Goldings Trio, who effortlessly bring old and avant-garde jazz styles together as a connected unit, constantly innovating and pushing the jazz form to further heights with bombastic drumming, pianistic organ playing, and imaginative guitar solos.
The trio developed and recorded Remon’s lyrical melodic tones on guitar, with the psychedelic drone soundscapes of Noble’s organ, filled and guided by Ziarkas’s drumming infused with rhythmic appliances and modulation.
