How many times have you or your clients pivoted in the last year?

If the answer is more than zero, you’re in good company - I did too!

Here’s the thing about pivots - it let’s us find our zone of genius by trying new things but more importantly it grows our comfort level with moving targets, shifting priorities, and evolving audience needs.

We dig into this topic on this week’s episode in a conversation with Lindsay Johnson and Min Sukree.

There’s two big aha moments in this electric conversation when we talk about how they got into podcasting (spoiler: the audience wanted it for years!) and how they’ve built their working relationship to ensure a first-class podcast gets on-air.

Just in case you didn't notice yet....
Podcasting has gone through the roof in the last fifteen years!

Why is that? Listening to podcasts is one of the easiest ways to consume content today.

For starters, it lets your audience multitask better than other content formats. You can listen to a show while you’re commuting in your car—or you can pop in headphones and tune in while you take care of errands around the house.

What was once known as “audio blogging” is now a HUGE business opportunity. In fact, some top podcasters earn multiple six figures in revenue streams from their podcasts alone!

Since the growth of podcasting has attracted businesses and creatives alike to produce engaging shows for their audiences, the need for hiring podcast production help has skyrocketed as well.

Most people launch a podcast because they want to share a message with the world, right?

While we wish producing a podcast meant simply pressing the record button and talking into a microphone, the truth is there are tons of moving parts happening behind the scenes. At the end of the day, producing a podcast can become a time consuming task for business owners. Solution? Partner up with a Podcast Manager who can help you!!
To successfuily onboard a Podcast Manager, here are five steps to consider.

You’ll hear the word “niche” quite a bit and maybe it’s a term you’re not used to yet. A niche is a segment of the market that you want to help. For example,
If you were looking at forms of content media, you’d have video (like YouTube), written form (like a blog) and audio (like podcasting). Podcasting is a niche under the bigger umbrella of content media.

Picking your niche helps you answer the question, “Who do you serve?”. It also allows you to dive deep into your clients’ world to understand the language they use, what their pain points are, and what they need to succeed. When you understand all these things, guess who will be the go-to person to solve their problems? YOU!

To your niche, your services will continue to be offers they won’t be able to refuse because you fully appreciate their world and know how to navigate the issues.

Podcasting is a niche in and of itself but if you’ve ever browsed through the plethora of podcasts out there, you know how diverse the topics can be. From personal development, parenting, comedy, true crime, health, current events and culture, and everything in between, there’s no shortage of podcast genres, so the next step is to narrow your niche. The clearer you are about your expertise, offer and who you serve, the easier it’ll be for your audience (potential clients) to make a decision to work with you or buy from you.

While this might sound like lofty goal, it’s a relatively simple process. I’ve broken it down to take out the guesswork and create a clear roadmap for you. Read on for how to attract and activate your ideal audience. Along the way, spend some time reflecting on who will benefit from what you know — and make sure you get really specific.

A little about me...I’ve been a C-Suite Executive Assistant since 2004, responsible for administrative support for CEO-level executives. In 2014, I got bit by the entrepreneurial bug - maybe you can relate?

At that time, podcasting was on the rise and as an avid podcast listener, I realized that my administrative skillset was a great fit for DIY podcasters that were needed help. I helped podcasters write show notes, edit audio, repurpose their podcast, manage social media, launch their products and services and review analytics.

The lightbulb moment came early last year when I noticed that I was receiving a lot of comments, questions, and DMs from people on social media about my business and I realized that the niche I needed to serve is aspiring podcast managers to teach them all the skills so they could be confident Podcast Managers and help their clients grow their podcast!

Are you an aspiring Podcast Manager? Comment below and tell me what you are most excited about learning?

Bianca drops her strategy for taking back control of her calendar while accomplishing more in her work week than you can imagine!

Executive Assistants, this episode is for you.

My guest today, Lucy Brazier, needs no introduction. As the founder and CEO of Marcham Publications, specialist publishers of Executive Support Magazine, Lucy is a leading authority on the administrative profession around the world. Her passion is for the assistant role to be truly recognized as a career and not just a job.

Because she frequently provides services as a motivational speaker, trainer and facilitator for conferences around the world, COVID-19 brought travel to a halt in 2020. Lucy and her team needed to quickly pivot to a digital world, including the printing of her magazine.

We chat about being resilient in your business when setbacks or challenges come our way, as well as the differences between an Executive Assistant and being a business owner as a Virtual Assistant.. While being a VA has its bonuses there is always a flipside and the switch can be daunting. Lucy gives us expert advice on how utilizing our Executive Assistant skills can easily correlate to offering services as a Virtual Assistant.

In my conversation with world traveler and global speaker Lucy Brazier, she shares why trusting your gut could be even more important that you realize.

Trusting your gut could be KEY to a good mental health and avoiding burnout.

Lucy drops so much wisdom in our conversation that I just can’t wait to share it with you!

There are a lot of assistants who are still not working in their traditional offices.

A virtual assistant is a visionary business owner who is responsible for securing clients, marketing their business, and delivering exceptional service to their existing clients.

Don’t for one moment confuse the two and get distracted by a remote employee who makes it look easy.

Your position as the CEO, marketing director, bookkeeper, and client service director mustn’t be diluted or downplayed - you are a rock star!

Have you ever felt as though, no matter how much progress you make or success you achieve, you don’t truly deserve your accomplishments?

If so, you’re in good company. Feeling like a fraud is a phenomenon that plagues many successful people. In fact, writer Maya Angelou and physicist Albert Einstein, both believed they didn’t deserve the attention their work received!

Feeling like a fraud is a phenomenon that plagues many successful people.

This unwarranted sense of insecurity is known as imposter syndrome. It leaves many of us feelings as though we haven’t earned our success, or that our thoughts aren’t worthy of attention. In some cases, it can even prevent people from sharing ideas, applying for university, or pursuing certain jobs.

In my latest episode, my guest, Heather Rider and I discuss what imposter syndrome feels like, how it affects us and some tips to overcome them. Tune in on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher or wherever you listen to podcasts. And check out my full show notes at www.thepodsquadcollective.com/podcast-011

Your client has spent time researching, recording, editing, and publishing an engaging podcast episode that theirr listeners can’t get enough of. It can help your client discover new audiences and keep their current listeners engaged all by uniquely packaging the content you’ve already created.

I’m popping in your feed today with another tip about networking. It’s not only about connecting with prospective clients!

There is massive value in networking with other VAs. The advice and mentorship we provide each other are invaluable.

Plus, on the hard days, who better to lean on than a community of people who REALLY understand what you’re dealing with. A strong professional network is everything in a solo business that can get kind of lonely right?

I’m talking about this and so much more with Jordan Garafalo of Oasis VA on the pod this week. Listen in and you’ll hear Jordan’s advice on how to network with your warm audience.

This one is packed with great advice. After you listen, let us know what you think on iG!
